Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Saipa midfielder Mohammad Soltanimehr, who came on as a substitute in Thursday match against Persepolis, is this season’s youngest player with 17 years and 15 days.

Saipa coach Majid Jalali, who is famous for using young talents, also fielded 16-year-old Bagher Niari last season.

But the youngest player of Iran Professional League (IPL) history is former Malavan midfielder Saeid Ezatolahi who was 16 years and 47 days old when he came on as a substitute in the game against Paykan in the 2012-13 season.

Current Persepolis midfielder Mohsen Mosalman is the second youngest used player in IPL history. He came as a substitute for Zob Ahan against Persepolis in 2007-08 season when he was just 16 years and 246 days old. He also scored in that game against the Reds to became the youngest goal scorer of IPL history.
