Tasnim – TEHRAN, Former Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni is on the verge of reaching an agreement with Iranian football club Esteghlal.

The 43-year-old coach, who has most recently worked at Sparta Prague, has reached an initial agreement with the team’s general manager Amir Hossein Fathi in Istanbul.

Stramaccioni has also coached Italian club Udinese and Greek giant Panathinaikos.

Esteghlal parted company with German coach Winfried Schaefer in late April following poor results in the Iran Professional League.

Assistant coach Farhad Majidi replaced Schaefer until the end of the season.
