IPL: Esteghlal held at Azadi, Persepolis shares the spoils with Zob Ahan [VIDEO]

Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iran Professional League (IPL) leader Esteghlal Tehran was held by Esteghlal Ahvaz but remained top of the table due to goal difference.

Esteghlal midfielder Omid Ebrahimi found the back of the net with a free-kick in the 28th minute.

Esteghlal Ahvaz’s striker Hamzeh Khaziravi equalized the match in the 58th with a header.

Earlier in the day, Persepolis was held by Zob Ahan 2-2 in Isfahan’s Fooladshahr.

Omid Alishah gave Persepolis a lead in the 35th minute.

Persepolis could have extended its lead in the 70th minute but Kamal Kamyabinia missed a penalty.Three minutes later, the referee showed Persepolis’s penalty spot for Kamyabinia’s handball.

Masoud Hassanzadeh converted his penalty.

With 10 minutes remaining, Ali Alipour scored for Persepolis with a curling shot from the edge of the area.

Zob Ahan striker Morteza Tabrizi equalized the match in the injury time.

Furthermore, Siahjamegan beat Gostaresh Foolad 1-0, Foolad saw off Sepahan, Tractor Sazi lost to Padideh 2-1, Saipa lost to Esteghlal Khuzestan 1-0,and Saba was defeated against Rah Ahan 1-0.
