    Current:

Dale Stephens has not adapted to the Premier League as well as expected and has done better.
Davy Pröpper has lost possession too much in some games this season.
Yves Bissouma grabbed his chance better than Alireza Jahanbakhsh against Southampton in the League Cup
Pascal Groß covers a lot of ground, but sees his goal attempts saved. (not one of the central pair midfielders)
Beram Kayal can hold his own until it comes to goalscoring.
    Sixth (for 4-3-3) midfielder: missing.

Dale Stephens is the best prospect, but falls short of top six competiveness through lack of speed and technical shortcomings, but most of all through lack of support of bodies in midfield. i.e. he would show better with a heavyweight partner in the middle, or drop a winger and have an extra body to make up the numbers.

I don't think CH is overly defensive compared to the other 13. Playing two wingers is not. Lack of numbers in the middle makes for longer passes. Passing and possosession ended up middle of the table last season.
thank you for your point of view, nice to read!

He had one of the lowest ratings in the last match, that's why.

Their rating system gives an artificially low score for players that only play part of the game. Not regarded as anything like gospel anyway. Best ignored.
Adjusted stat to makeup for minutes missed: 6.80

                https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/211/...gland-Brighton

Other players would need to be adjusted as well for missed minutes.

                cf. Solly March: 6.51

Any score over 7 is good enough.

Adjusted stat still skewed by limited game time:

                Murray 7.10
                Knockaert 7.23
                Bruno 7.33
                Bissouma 6.30
                Izquierdo 6.97
                Kayal 7.12
                Pascal Groß 6.78
                Montoya 6.86

He's playing on his favourite side in place of Knockaert who's having his best season. Ali has to up his game from the last match to cement his place, poor game and he can kiss the right wing position goodbye.

now lets hope he isnt lined up too deep again, playing as almost a LB..!!
CH needs to swap out March and ARJ's roles, let Alireza play as a drop back striker and drop back March a more natural defending winger..!

                              edit
humm...! just noticed Knockeard on bench..!! ali must deliver to establish himself as an starter..!!
im certain he will get a few looks at the goal today, lets hope he can keep tits calm and have a more composed finishing touches ..! I predict he will have himself an assist today..! hoping for a win
