I'm in a similar bucket, but I'm looking forward to the opening game and plan to attend all three games. Its been a dream to watch TM play since the 2006 WC when I watched them and was inspired to return to soccer and play in HS. Everything going on in Iran and the world is disheartening, but these men are just people, not politicians, warlords or activists and I'm sure most would prefer not to live under threats from the US and Iranian governments. But they are proud to represent their homeland and, to that extent, I'll be proud to root for them (and any decent Iranian) next month. Can't wait to see so many of these players in person after watching them on TV and bad streams for years. And who knows, perhaps they help bridge a gap in this world today (much like the 95 South African rugby team,Mexico in 68 or Nixon's ping-pong diplomacy).

Good to see the forums are still alive and well from an old-timer.

Have a bit of a conundrum and hoping I can get some advice. Given what's transpired over the last few months and the heavy involvement of the players in spreading IRGC propaganda, I'm genuinely trying to understand where folks stand here.

I have tickets to all 3 Iran games. I really do not know what to do. Should I sell the tickets? Should I protest? Should I hope they lose? Should I hope they win? What should I feel?

I am in your position. I was worried tickets wouldn't be available so I bought the team package. Got tickets to all 3 games but work only allowed me to go to one. I chose the New Zealand game and will sell the rest of the tickets.

You can boo the anthem and cheer the players just fine. That's probably what my family will do.

I don't think one can convince people by calling them names etc. And like everywhere else on SM, too much name calling has been happening...mostly by people who have been regime supporters at some point themselves.

I don't think people who choose to go and watch TM are traitors. I think they are mistaken and wil regret their action in the future.
