hey! to everyone who thinks team melli should be banned - or who thinks that team melli should have boycotted and stood up for the people, I have a question: if you were one of the players, would you sacrifice your career, assets in iran, and the safety of your family who live in iran by publicly boycotting and using your celebrity to attack the regime?

Not a single person here or going to game to bash team Melli would give up anything let alone prestigious footballing career.

We are not attacking anyone, we are showing our disgust of a regime that we resent and want the world to see. We are making an statement through this. I have no doubt that the regime leverages football to whitewash their crimes...in fact, i was thinking to myself: it's funny how nothing in iran works properly, yet somehow we have a top-20 national team...considering the level of neglect the IR shows to every other cultural/sporting initiative in iran, it's surprising that comparatively, team melli actually does receive a decent amount of support from the regime.
