Qatar U23 Tournament: Iran loses to Tajikistan

Tasnim – DOHA, Iran U-23 football team lost to Tajikistan 2-1 at the four-nation international event on Tuesday.

Vahid Namdari scored Iran’s only goal in the match held at Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar.

The tournament is being held in Doha from 15 to 21 January.

The participating teams are Qatar, Iran, Kuwait and Tajikistan.

Iran is preparing for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Championship 2020.

Zlatko Kranjcar’s team has been drawn along with Iraq, Yemen and Turkmenistan in Group C.

The AFC U-23 Championship 2020 is scheduled to take place in Thailand. It will act as the AFC qualifiers for the men’s football tournament at the 2020 Olympics.
