They show each other lots of Respect...deserved. Taylor is a superb Champion. This Time Hassan had the advantage...next time it may be Taylor again. As i said already in the Olympics Thread.....its too close between them.....Hassan is the Better Overall Wrestler and with more power...Taylor on the other Hand is explosive including some of the quickest Hands in the Game.Originally posted by Ab-Gosht View Postwow taylor hugged yazdani at the podium!

Ladies and gentlemen, mark this day in your calendars. This will go down in history as one of the top 10 or even 5 greatest days in Iran's wrestling history.
16 matches, 16 wins, 0 loss.
2 gold medals.
Breaking two curses against two of the greatest USA wrestlers of all time.
Just wow. Hopefully we can perform well tomorrow too and get the team title after 8 years.

There are a lot of classy comments from the Americans as well as some saying they are actually not that upset yazdani won because he’s such a great competitorOriginally posted by _Navid_ View PostAlso if you have spare time, the reactions of Americans too confident in their freestyle team is fun to read.

A couple of standouts from the Yazdani final, in addition to what’s been said:
1) Yazdani wrestled highly intelligently. He didn’t gas out like last time, and it even seemed that he “let” Taylor take him down for the 2 points. This was crucial in a couple of ways. First, he didn’t have to struggle and expend energy trying to avoid it. Second, it was a great way to run the clock down a bit more in the dying minutes. It’s like he knew it was a battle to lose to ultimately win the match.
2) he gave TAYLOR a kiss on the cheek on the mat after the win.
What a champion!

I get the feeling he had the same basic strategy. This time as mentioned his stance was lower. But he closed the distance in his wrestling. Probably figuring out if he might as well go for clean TD's and pushouts (his signature) the best way of defending is horsing him around in underhooks.Originally posted by diz View PostA couple of standouts from the Yazdani final, in addition to what’s been said:

“ps... are we sure that they're in Oslo, Norway?
'cause it sure sounds like they're in Iran! (After Yazdani got on the podium...)”
