My girlfriend worked for a North Korean charity for three years she said it was hard to convince people to care about the cause because the nation had been so politically isolated that no one cared anymore

the primary reason I’m against Iran not playing at the World Cup is it will just isolate us further and we already have been with 20 plus years of sanctions and 40 years going nowhere under a treacherous regime

at least playing in California and booing the anthem puts us in the media spotlight which is a lot better than nothing . Withdrawing just means further isolation from a world that already doesn’t give a shit. The more time spent in isolation the less media coverage and the less people care

The Islamic Republic perpetuates the big lie. That their government is a normal government. That every country has its own problems. When Iran's streets are filled with protestors, they only show footage of protests in Minnesota. Iran has home grown terrorists...so does the United States. Iran has banking scandals, so does England. Iran's currency is constantly devaluating...so is the Turkish Lira. Cost of living is too high in Iran...well yes but Americans complain about that too.

Everything that we do to perpetuate that Iran is a normal country plays into that narrative...It perpetuates the Islamic Republic!

When Iran is allowed into the WC, it plays into that playbook. When Iran is thrown out of the WC, it breaks that lie...the regime can't hide that. When Iran's players show up to play, it perpetuates the lie. When they don't and some unknown plays are brought, the regime can't hide that.

If you and a 100,000 spectators show up and scream for 2 hours, the regime just silences you with a clock of a mouse. Your act will have ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER. Every shot of the spectators showing something the regime doesn't want is instantly censored. And the stats will say that a 100,000 spectators came to watch IRI play.

We need to stop perpetuating this bloody regime. Please rethink your stance.
