^ dadash, we are all in the same boat. I totally understand your sadness as we are all the same except a few people who dont care for anything but their own joy and disregard all that has happened. We cant. We love Iran but its regime kills and abuses our people and we hate them and those who support them for any reasons. And this team for many of us is not TM anymore. This is sad but the exact feeling of many of us.

pathetic showing for some of these "protestors" at the stadium. They called the girls in our group "Jendeh" for absolutely no reason - literally a group of designer-clothing-wearing fat lipped gross middle aged LA women who were yelling this at everyone who was walking into the stadium.
satisfying knowing that they'll never be in charge of anything beyond their farsh store on westwood boulevard. 3rd worlders.
shameful

you think that the way i phrased this post above was as insulting / equal to calling a group of iranian girls jendehs for no reason?Originally posted by webmaster View Post^ afarin you are so classy.. lol. you are another Iranian and the way you phrased it, was nothing different than the middle aged woman at least she showed her face while you dont. my comment means that you are bashing Iranians without showing your face while she did. Im sure because there were too many you were quite there. So why didnt you tell her anything and defend the girl but instead you come here and post an insult to her because nobody sees your face here?
Stand behind your words if you are a man or do not call people Los Angelesi with big lips people, so you have fat lips too?? Post a photo for us to see your face. Or how do we know if you or the girl in your party didnt call her jendeh forst?? Be respectful first if you want to be better than her or you are no different
Now you get it or still not??__________________________________________________ ________________________________________

What a great game to attend, and what amazing energy in the stadium. No matter the political beliefs (there were many people supporting Pahlavi and many people just there to watch the game, as well as some very obvious IRI supporters), it was obvious that the Iranians were collectively supporting the team and went crazy when Iran scored, or completely silent and upset when New Zealand did.
In an era where our people could not be more divided, it was really beautiful to see that this could bring us together. Looking forward to the other games.

So now that it is all said and done and the first game has been played. Who are the winners? I have a genuine question for all the supporters who said that attending rather than boycotting and to shine a light to the situation would be better, do you think that you achieved your goal?
I for one thought that there would be a lot of people booing and that there would be huge lion and sun flags everywhere. What I saw was some flags, nothing more. I couldn´t make out any particular booing during the national anthem. What I did see was a team holding their hearts and singing the national anthem, fans cheering for their team and a TV broadcast that victimized the players for the treatment from USA/FIFA. Yes there were some discussions, but sports broadcast always tries to separate politics from sports.
To sum it up, the only winner in all of this was the regime. They participated with a loyal team that gained support from neutral fans because of their hate towards USA/FIFA.
Football-wise, lets not even start. Awful.

this! It was never about achieving anything. Iranians cheering for team melli just don’t want to step aside their own joy.Originally posted by love-tm View PostSo now that it is all said and done and the first game has been played. As the old Persian saying goes, "The uglier the monkey, the more tricks it plays."
With antics like shooting gestures toward the stands, hopefully they stick around long enough for the world to get to know this garbage-picked team for what it is.
Thanks for lifting our spirits against the team ranked 85th in the world 🙄 with all due respect to New Zealand.
We miss Sardar Azmoun!

that’s what some of us are saying for weeks!! Cheering for team melli will be beneficial to the regime. They use it for their propaganda. People that say: we won’t let them take our football are naive.Originally posted by Tarsal Claw View PostWell, from a protest and anti regime perspective, that was completely anticlimactic.
They took it and use it, the players are the puppets unfortunately. Just like they took the whole country..

Whether the team should be banned or not is one thing, but I think it's time to realize that A LOT of the players on the team are pure POS's..
Taremi and Rezaeian basically whitewashed IR's crimes in their post game interviews, Taremi saying these kind of problems we have in Iran exists all over the world, and Rezaeian saying its our internal business and none of your business. Not to mention Khalilzadeh, Kanaani, Berianvand, Torabi etc's khayemali comments basically bending over for IR.
