I really, really hope we don’t fall back into the previous level of complacency as in previous Asian Cups. Aka, dismantling minnows, then getting knocked out in the 2nd round.

We need friendlies against teams like Uruguay and Senegal again, to prepare for the likes of Japan.

Winning the asian cup would be tremendous for team spirit, fifa ranking, and to get the attention of other good countries.

Also, in the modern era, it’s extremely difficult to win a competitive tournament without depth, and a good midfield. We need to incorporate Ghoddos in all upcoming friendlies, and GN needs a serious plan to rebuild the midfield. Winging it, or ignoring our midfield, will be a tragic mistake.

You really think GN is able to set a plan or even analyze we have a pb in midfield or elsewhere??
The only thing he can do is to see who scored the most goal in ipl or are the most hyped by the Iranian medias.
Be sure Moghanlou will still be around despite his pathetic 2 friendlies and euro failure, same with ghaedi after 2 goals against masjed ghassem soleimani and media hype

Taj brought back the PS3 and the handcontrolls.

Then he teamed up with Nabi and Ghalenoi to rigg the competition. Taj lost on purpuse to Majedi and GN betted on Majedi with Taj Money. Then Taj called a friend and got Majedis car toed during the final so he had to leave at halftime, forfeiting the final to Ghalenoi. 😁

Taj Nabi and GN split the money, 100$ entrance, they won each 200 $.. Earned 100$ each in winner takes it all freezout FIFA 22 tournament.

No info about scouting, but they probably plan to start planning for TM trainingcamp in June, sometime in the end of next month or so.

The core of TM and the reason TM progress that much in last years is the young and mostly legionnaires we relied quite early : Azmoun, JB, Ezza, Gholizadeh, Hosseini, Hajsafi, even Taremi.
Why Iran football and GN don't want to understand that and stick on average middle aged Sarlak, Moghanlou, Zakipour..;??

No team in the whole world can press for 90 minutes. You need to alternate spells of press with spells of sitting back. As you said high press is only working well if you have players with high stamina. It's also a risky tactical approach against teams whose skillset is roughly at the same level. Can you see us succeeding by playing high press against Japan? Impossible.

I certainly can’t see us succeed vs Japan playing the same way as in 2019. We must take control of the game and attack like we did vs Russia.

Iran-Saudi will be the final. One of Japan/S.Korea/Australia will choke early. The other two will be beaten by us & Saudi.

I hope the General works on our fitness level though. We need our team to be able to press with 5-6 players in opponents half for 90+ min in every game.

Allahyar, Ghoddos were not there otherwise he would‘ve played them. Moghanlou is amongst the best strikers in our league right now and therefore he deserved to play in those friendlies.

Our league is awful lol, to be amongst the best it does not mean much. He was complete trash during the two friendlies, and GN will play a lot of party bazi to play more random PGL players
