IMHO, Team "Melli" players have a moral obligation, at the very least, to represent their own people in the face of injustice.

I know it is a lot to ask, not easy to do, and there will be consequences if they do. That is why the likes of Nasser Hejazi are heroes, and some in the past or present are not.

The truth is, IFF is not an autonomous sport federation, and it is corrupt, as it is directly run by the government.
I’ve never believed they have any obligation except to play well.
Still they do good things for people all the time.
TM as a collective has too many components for them to do everything we want.
let them be is what I say.

Then tell me if none of these protests, movements matter, then why does IRI spend millions and millions of dollars in propaganda by busing in and flying in their supporters to the games in Qatar? Putting restrictions on fans, preventing reporters from gaining access to the stadium etc. So you can't say it does not matter. It does matter.

North Korea, Russia, China, etc. all do the same. Every autocrat regime does these things to control their own narrative. How many are on the verge of revolution? Your logic is the one actually flawed. Propaganda is something every country does, thinking because IR does everything in their power to seek control actually proves my point. They are still capable of controlling these things that happen outside of Iran to the point that the Masih Alinejads of the world are essentially powerless. I’d love for you to be right, but you’re not, IR is fully entrenched and barring Masih suiting up in armor and going back to fight, these guys have a death grip on the country. People who say “it’s uneasy, they’re gonna fall any day”! USA bombed, they’re gonna fall any day!” I’ve been hearing this since 30 years ago.

It’s like thoughts and prayers, all the hopes and prayers and curses at our players that you all do are powerless and I’m so sorry. I wish they mattered, but our leaders I’m sure have been cursed billions of times over from afar and they will outlive me who is half their age. You can keep protesting TM, but again, it accomplishes nothing and if you think IR wants people fervently supporting TM, they would do more to create a strong TM instead of shipping in actors like you’re saying. It’s all about control, and they control every detail of our hamvatan’s life. They’ve purposely killed the love for TM and created the team mollah stuff to kill the intense love for the team. I’m convinced of that. They’re in control of everything and do so much propaganda, why are they not then doing what they can to make Iranians actually support TM instead of where the support is now if that’s the case? I just don’t think there’s any logic that IR wants people to love TM. If your logic is that they want people to support TM as propaganda, can you answer me why they need to ship in phony fans knowing it pisses off and alienates so much of the population. These things just don’t add up. It’s all about control.

I always had a suspicion about this Saeed Alhoyui guy (assistant coach to GN) and how he appeared out of nowhere in the national team program and got appointed as assistant coach. His credentials, background and how he qualified for the job have never been the subject of any discussion.

Thanks to US immigration who denied a visa for him to come to US to attend WC draw, we now know he has been associated with IRCG.

That's not true....Alhoei was long time assistant coach at Gol Gohar. He was also assistant coach at Tractor and Sepahan. The whole reason Ghalenoei brought him to TM was because they worked together for 4-5 years at Gol Gohar. He also has his AFC A license.

Now is he actually qualified? NO because being assistant coach for a PGPL club = being useless. He also does not have a track record of success anywhere he's been.

The only assistant coach worth a damn in the whole league is Bagheri and I wish he was in TM so he could instill some discipline

He's been in football for a long time relative to his age.
He did his sarbazi in IRGC. That's why he couldn't get a visa.

Since it will be hard for fans to travel to US from Iran. This WC will show the verments that live among us here in US and Canada that we did not know where IRI ass kissers. We will see iranian celebrities who would come to US with green card but in Iran talk against US and act as if they do not want to go outside of iran.
              IRI = FAILED

You do realize sarbazi is not optional in Iran yeah? And you don't get to choose where you get sent? Unless you have tons of money. Leave these badbakht footballers alone lol Alhoei is a lot of things but hes literally been a PGPL assistant coach for more than a decade.

Now if we're talking about MEHDI TAJ, then yeah. He's clearly a IRGC plant with all the connections and bribing

Tell me how so? There will be a clear majority of people antiIR and proTeam Melli.

The pro-regime people are outnumbered a crazy amount.

A University professor in Arkansas got fired for being one of IR's stooges last week. It was because of Iranians outing them.

I have tickets to all 3 games.

The same people who have never kicked a ball would call me 'Hezbollahi' for watching Team Melli play in the US. I had the same stupid arguments with those people in 2022.

It's born of delusion and a sad holier than thou mentality.

Some of the things I have said against IR would quickly prove where I stand.

I have some choice words for anyone who thinks going to the game= proIR.

It's virtue-signaling for some people, unfortunately. The same people who said "boycott 2022" but suspiciously knew what happened in every game down to the minute. They just want to be able to say that they fought back in some way. No matter how desperate and sad it is, I just let the Iranians I know do it to make themselves feel better. It makes them feel better in a hopeless situation and probably an ounce of the feeling that they're the "real Iranians" and we are the fake ones/vatan foroush's makes them feel special. Americans do it too as well as I'm sure most countries/peoples, but it's just a way to make someone feel more important than the rest of us. They are special, we are trash for enjoying soccer and wanting some hope for our Iranian brothers and sisters instead of the misery they live through daily. All I say is with your positions, anyone saying these things and hating TM should really commit to not watching the games. It rings hollow when you talk a big game and watch from home, while saying those who watch at the stadium are IR supporters.

Can't agree with you more on Shoja. I hope Shoja gets dropped 100%. And not just because he's an i.r. Kh**ye maal. So is Torabi but we seem to tolerate his Mr. Bean ass.

Like I've said before, Shoja is a solid centre-back. He has strengths. He is above many other centre-backs in Iran. Smart, aggressive and a risk taker when it's necessary. However, with Khalilzadeh it is NEVER consistent. With one play he can ruin the whole team. Just as he's done on countless occasions with Sepahan, Persepolis and Team Melli.

I can see him getting red carded at the most crucial time, costing us the knockout stages. Even when playing in a World Cup where the 3rd team can make it out the group

Unfortunately, we know that Ghalenoei will keep him.

It’s ironic because out of all the team Melli players I met shojah was the most helpful and made the most time for me compared to the others .

I guess maybe he has turned arrogant and too complacent about his team Melli career . Cq saw through his weaknesses something ghalenoi doesn’t seem to be

even in games we didn’t concede like the Tanzania game he made mistakes which better strikers like Marmoush and Chris Wood would snap up in an instant. I just don’t think he’s got the ability to defend against the world’s best at 36 and he’s lied about his age he’s more older than he actually is

hot take: shoja is a very good defender and in TM is often the last resort after players in front of him or to his right neglect their responsibilities.

I’m speaking on the field only.

He used to be a lot better. He was certainly starting material from 2020-2023. The problem is now he's too old and slow to be effective. We saw this just last camp how much stability we got just from Majid Hosseini starting next to him, our defense immediately improved and became less hectic. It's just the circle of time, it's come for him as it did for all other players.

Shoja is an a$$ no doubt about and honestly i don’t want such a character in TM, neither Kanani but on the field and performance wise he is still one of our best D. No wonder any coach in last 15 years other than CQ(and we all know it was not football related) invited him to TM and had him as starter!
despite being not that tall he is winning lots of air battles. His first pass for iranian standard defenders are quite good. His reading of the game is great, obviously as an offensive deffense man who likes to push forward he takes some risks which will cost him sometimes!
he is kind of unique D with his style of play, that is why at 36 he is still around! And the fact that we don’t develop not many decent D is not helping either!
people judgement usually influenced with his shitty off field attitude
