Portugal is prep for Belgium.Originally posted by aariaa View Post
great choice. None of these teams play anything like Egypt or NZ
Scotland and Iceland play a physical football that is as close as anyone gets in the world to New Zealand football.
Any game against such opponents will be useful for TM.

How come there is no news on this site about harassment of iranian world cupfans and rejection of visas? About threats of arresting these fans by your love Pahlavi-Trump axis? How far are you willing to go against your own people PFDC-Pahlavi? You think people are blind? First it was your pro-genocidal stance of palestinians, then it was the thousands of innocent people in Iran you supported Israel to kill, now its Iranian soccer team and its fans? Just how far blood are you willing to shed to support your Greater Israel-Biden-Trump bosses, and his puppet Pahlavi?
Taremi being threatened: https://iranwire.com/en/sports/14687...e-in-the-irgc/
Andrew Giuliani said operations at games had not been ruled out and supporters deemed a "potential threat" would not get visas.

Israel wants to destroy IR: “we support Iran, fuck off Israel
you guys side with IR’s pro Palestina.
Team melli is run by IR and khayemals, you guys say its about our football.
don’t you understand that if you always side by Iran you automatically side by IR?
A revolution is IMPOSSIBLE when many keep promoting Iran and how “free” the girls are nowadays.
IR will keep reigning if everything goes their way. Many just dont care.

I'm not getting into the Israel Palestine stuff, but in general statements like "if you always side by Iran you automatically side by IR?" is the kind of stuff chappis said in the 70s and it was a failed ideology then, and it's a failed ideology now.Originally posted by Shahin K View Post

All this turning football into a political ideological battleground stuff is music to IR's ears because it is one of the easiest distractions for them to manage.

I beg to differ; this only exposes IRI more. The more restrictions on US puts on TM and their staff it will only stop the propaganda machine that IRI calls TM.Originally posted by Nokhodi View Post

The best-case scenario is for all team Melli Sepahai players to be banned, TM comes to the US with a young team without the dalals that are behind the current team, loses all 3 games, and leave. Also for FIFA to force Iran to play the game in Seattle. Just to add more insult to the arzeshi group in iran.

Plain and simple, the faction that cares in Iran doesn't care at all if that happens to TM. They will take it as a moral victory. That's what they do. Same idiots who banned all football players over age 27 from TM. Same fools who got us banned from 1980 and 1984 Olympics and 82 and 86 WC qualifiers. They don't pay the price, the athletes do. Same way that they ban athletes from facing Israeli athletes. Nothing happens to a**holes who make the decision and the promising athlete is banned for life.Originally posted by persian-eagle-13 View Post

You assume they think like you and I, they don't! They don't care if Iran is embarrassed at a public level. You think they cared Iran lost 6-2 to England? They were happy about it. More reason for people to hate TM.
Once regular people hate TM, IR will have successfully extinguished another venue for mass mobilization and popular response. IR will have played everyone hook, line, and sinker.

I posted something similar in the Taremi thread, but it needs to be said that planning a revolution in the football forum just shows how desperate we are as a people. Thinking that if Iran comes and loses every game, wins every game, players protest, players set themselves on fire during the game in protest, anything, that it will change the situation in Iran. Those of us on this forum live almost exclusively abroad, we have no control, and we think anything we do has any bearing or helps the situation in Iran. It doesn't, and that powerless feeling makes us angry. We feel like if we find targets that we think are "helping" IR in any way and discredit them, we have achieved a moral victory and hare helping create some kind of change. Realistically, it's just desperation and anger at ourselves for being powerless.
I've seen many in the west sadly say "well cut off the water, let the people in Iran die of thirst, or starve the people there, at least things will change!" I know too many people who have gone this far in their rationale, and it's honestly sick. Most Iranians who are able to leave and start anew have like us, many are stuck there and have to live by the rules or face horrific punishment. If you are unwilling to go back and starve with them, none of us should volunteer others to suffer for our own political ambitions. These are human beings, and some resort to offering others up for punishment, death, etc. and are unwilling to step foot in Iran out of fear. It's sad and I hope many will learn that letting many die so you can visit your Ameh in Tehran isn't helping Iran. It's a horrible situation we're all stuck in, but we should wish for small good things to happen for our people to give them life, maybe they'll be invigorated with some hope to push for a better future. Making a country hopeless and making them feel everything sucks, even down to their football team makes people curl in the fetal position and cry and waste their lives. Hope is a better motivator than punishment and I believe people in Iran were more hopeful when they saw their compatriots achieving. They spilled to the street when TM had big wins the in the past, it scared the government. That isn't going to happen in the future. One because we suck now talent-wise, but two, some people wisely killed Iranian's love for TM and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was IR propaganda to make TM into IR's team so people would stop caring. It would be ironic if all the people hating on TM now from abroad are actually playing into exactly what IR wants. They won't get any big celebrations in the streets potential risk to stability anymore now that everyone hates TM, so who is the big winner here with these shifted attitudes in the past couple of years?

Sorry buddy your logic is flawed. Then tell me if none of these protests, movements matter, then why does IRI spend millions and millions of dollars in propaganda by busing in and flying in their supporters to the games in Qatar? Putting restrictions on fans, preventing reporters from gaining access to the stadium etc. So you can't say it does not matter. It does matter.Originally posted by Afat11 View PostI posted something similar in the Taremi thread, but it needs to be said that planning a revolution in the football forum just shows how desperate we are as a people. It is supposed to be Team "Melli" and not Team "Government".
IMHO, Team "Melli" players have a moral obligation, at the very least, to represent their own people in the face of injustice.
I know it is a lot to ask, not easy to do, and there will be consequences if they do. That is why the likes of Nasser Hejazi are heroes, and some in the past or present are not.
The truth is, IFF is not an autonomous sport federation, and it is corrupt, as it is directly run by the government.
