Tasnim – TASHKENT, Uzbekistan Newly-appointed coach Hector Cuper said Iran national football team will help them to prepare for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
Uzbekistan, who has been grouped with Japan, Oman and Turkmenistan in the AFC Asian Cup, will host Iran in Tashkent’s Bunyodkor Stadium on Tuesday.
“The friendly match against Iran will be Uzbekistan’s second warm-up for the Asian Cup. We will field the new players who were unused substitutes in the match against Syria,” Cuper said in the pre-match news conference.
“Iran is a strong team and they had a good performance in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. They work with Carlos Queiroz for many years,” the Argentine coach added.
“Playing with Iran will be a good opportunity for Uzbekistan to prepare for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. I am waiting for the friendly against Iran,” Cuper concluded.
