Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Zob Ahan midfielder Ghasem Haddadifar has called time on his Iran career which has earned him 17 caps, IRNA wrote.

Haddadifar said in a statement: “I have spent almost five years with Iran national football team and I gained a lot of experience during this period, but due to some personal reasons I can’t participate in the forthcoming training camp.”

In 2010, Hadadifar received his first cap for Iran in a friendly match against Armenia. He was also among Iran’s 2014 FIFA World Cup final squad invited by Carlos Queiroz.

The 31-year old, who was regarded as Javad Nekounam successor, currently is in his best form over the years, winning Hazfi Cup and finishing in fourth place of Iran Pro League with Zob Ahan.
