Persianfootball.com – ROSTOV, 19-year-old Iranian defensive midfielder Saeid Ezatollahi celebrated a successful UEFA Champions League debut on Tuesday, not only debuting in the qualifiers of Europe’s elite competition, but also scoring a goal in FC Rostov’s 2-2 first-leg draw versus RSC Anderlecht.

The Belgian giants took an early lead against Rostov, who kept Iranian starlet Sardar Azmoun on the bench. Azmoun just recently was allowed to join the club from Rubin Kazan thanks to a CAS verdict in his favour.

But Ezatollahi levelled the scoreline shortly later, when smashed the loose ball into the net from close range after Anderlecht’s goalkeeper deflected a well-taken freekick.

However, Anderlecht regained the lead in second half, thanks to a beautiful goal. Rostov’s coach reacted and brought Azmoun on.

The substitution immediately paid off when the Team Melli striker sent a square ball into the box where a foul occured and Poloz converted the resulting penalty kick.

Azmoun was in the center of attention two more times, but first saw his good shot from outside the area saved by the goalkeeper before having a goal denied due to offside.

The last highlight of the game was Saeid Ezatollahi’s though, who almost crowned an excellent performance with his second goal of the day, but had his powerful shot after a good solo run come off the woodwork.

Meanwhile Ali Karimi was not in Dinamo Zagreb’s squad as the Croatians defeated Dinamo Tbilisi 2-0.
