Thenation.com.pk – LAHORE, The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and the Islamic Republic of Iran Football Federation (FFIRI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral football cooperation, opening new opportunities for players, coaches and technical personnel in both neighbouring countries.

The agreement was signed by PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani and FFIRI President Mehdi Taj, building on the longstanding friendship and close ties between Pakistan and Iran.

The partnership aims to promote football development through knowledge-sharing, player and coaching exchanges, training camps, coaching education and competitive fixtures.

Iran’s experience in youth football and futsal is expected to provide valuable learning opportunities for Pakistan’s emerging players and football professionals.

The agreement also reflects a shared commitment to developing the next generation of football talent by creating pathways for young players to improve their skills, gain international exposure and learn from established coaching and technical systems.

For Pakistan, closer cooperation with Iran could support broader efforts to strengthen grassroots football, improve coaching standards and expand opportunities for youth development. Exchanges between the two federations may also help build stronger professional links and encourage greater collaboration in the sport.
