Tehran Times – TEHRAN, With less than three years to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, FIFA has organized a series of seminars for elite AFC, CAF and OFC referees who are prospects to take charge at future FIFA competitions.

Iranian referee Alireza Faghani, who has officiated the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup final between Barcelona and River Plate on Sunday, is among the invited ones.

Faghani has a very good chance of referring in the 2018 World Cup in Russia after a successful performance in the Club World Cup final.

The seminar is scheduled to be held on 11-15 April 2016 in Doha, Qatar and brings together prospective referees from three FIFA Confederations.

The referees will go through a host of activities that includes theoretical sessions in the classroom as well as practical sessions on the field of play.

AFC invited referees includes Alireza Faghani (Iran), Abdulrahman Al Jassim (Qatar), Ravshan Irmatov (Uzbekistan), Nawaf Abdulla Ghayyath Shukralla (Bahrain), Fahad Al-Mirdasi (Saudi Arabia), Ryuji Sato (Japan) and Mohammed Abdulla Hassan Mohamed (United Arab Emirates).
