Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Persepolis general manager Mohammad Rouyanian walked away from the popular Iranian club on Tuesday due to financial concerns.

Rouyanian also wrote a letter to say farewell to Persepolis fans.

“I would like to say a few words to you. I would like to kindly inform you that I want to quit the club. It’s hard to write a goodbye letter, but it’s time for me to step down,” Rouyanian wrote.

“I did my best since I was appointed as Persepolis general manager two years ago. Many thanks to all the staff, players, and fans who supported me during my career at the club,” he added.

“I want the fans and everyone to stick together. I think my time is over at the club. I feel it had to happen sooner,” Rouyanian said.

Persepolis is currently in third place in the Iran Professional League (IPL), behind Foolad and its arch rival Esteghlal.
