Shojaei and Jorge Galan were influential in the attack for the hosts.

Osasuna’s best scoring chance came on the half hour when the Iranian midfielder sent a perfect through pass to Galan, but the 20-year-old striker’s effort did not beat the goalkeeper.

Three minutes after the restart, Masoud created a goal out nothing when he dribbled past four players inside the box before finding the back of the net.

While they only held a one-goal lead, Camacho’s men could never be comfortable and they had a brief scare with 15 minuts to go, but Osasuna’s defense hold on and the lone goal proved to be enough.

Masoud who was the best player on the field today was replaced after 77 minutes, while his compatriot Javad Nekounam was out, purging his one-game suspension.
