Although that usually is; I didn’t hear of (from relatives in Iran) or any real noise from others a source of pride when the basiji won in a sport not followed much by mostOriginally posted by perspolis#1 View PostPlease stop political discussion and move it to the IRAN Politics thread if necessary.
Right now, medals are a point of pride for our people, especially when they have been through so much recently. We should be supporting our athletes at the Olympics win or lose. We haven't had much to celebrate as a people in recent times and we need moments like the Iran-Morocco win or Yazdani's winning strike for the country's psyche.

In a sport not usually followed sure. I don't need to reiterate my political views about who that guy represents as I'm sure most members know how I feel about the system.Originally posted by PersianLion80 View PostAlthough that usually is; I didn’t hear of (from relatives in Iran) or any real noise from others a source of pride when the basiji won in a sport not followed much by most
Weightlifting and Wrestling are Iran's points of pride yes? So let's support them with whats left in the Olympics

Yes the only thing Taylor truly has over Yazdani is better conditioning and stamina. Yazdani is by far the better, more technical wrestler. Sure Yazdani has lost to him twice in two matches but to say he is a huge underdog is getting too carried away. I wouldn't even call Yazdani an underdog against Taylor I think it is really a 50-50 on who wins.

We’ve all been there bro! I even thought about giving up on TM football in years past. But you’ll recover and come back. All the true fans do. Because in our hearts we love our hamvatans and their potential to bring joy to 85 million people around the world, especially the ones struggling in Iran. Hope is the one thing we have to get through our daily struggles.Originally posted by Abtin View PostI'm giving up on Iranian sports, besides TM football..

While I agree that Yazdani is a better wrestler, the last time they fought Taylor broke him. Yazdani literally quit. That kind of mental edge is really hard to overcome in a sport like wrestling.Originally posted by Soosk View PostYes the only thing Taylor truly has over Yazdani is better conditioning and stamina. That's what I was talking about you could see it during the timeouts too. He would go back before everybody on the court while the coach was still talking.Originally posted by IranPowned View Posthttps://www.khabarvarzeshi.com/news/...A7%D9%BE%D9%86
Look how Marouf acted, our star. Clearly the Iranian volleyball team was not a collectivity. This loss is very unnecessary.
That's the crappy mentality we have, unfortunately, even if you have the worst coach in the world or whatever. You can't divide the team. It reminds me of some of our team melli players before Queiroz.
