When someone like Ghaemi publicly shit at the coach and old vets like Mousavi backing him while the coach is still there, say alot about the chemistry. The group of vets got into fight with pretty every coach since Velasco left the team.

True. We lost to them at the Asian Cup, lost to them twice at the last basketball WCQ and lost to them at the last beach soccer WCQ. Even in wrestling and futsal, we sometimes lose a medal / continental title because of them. I don't know the reason but unlike Korea, they have been our headache in sports. I think we underrated this Japanese volleyball team. They finished 4th place at the 2019 World Cup.

You could see how Marouf looked uninterested during every single timeout except the last one.

It's quite a disappointment but it was to be expected after the disappointing VNL.

Anyways these will probably be our worst Olympics since a long time. Nejati f**** up there's no other way to say it. And except yazdani we can only expect one or two bronzes.

Yes, Volleyball should have won. It did not.
Losing to Canada 3-0 was back breaker.

Out of 12 teams participating, Iran now ranked 9th. I agree poor overall results.

Expecting a medal in Volleyball was unreasonable so is being ranked 9th among 12 teams when beating # 1 (Poland).

14 athletes in the USA team have served in the military and involved in killing people. many other countries have soldiers in their teams, top of all of them Isral.

Someone has to defend our country and sports. It is better than nationalizing other nationalities such as UAE even Americans nationalize to win medals.

Hesabi halam gerefte shod az in Volleyball. How the hell do you manage to beat the world champions and still fail to qualify from a group where 4 out of 6 teams advance? Only Iran can manage this feat, tabrik!

Most of the blame is on the coach. His mental game is 0. Why is it so hard for him call timeout during the game?!
The japanese coach was smart and called timeout as soon as we got 2 points in a row, resulting in us missing the following serve.
Our coach on the other hand was waiting until Japan got 4-5 points before calling timeout😡

I don't want to go off topic. But there's a difference between people enrolling the army and being sent left and right (even though I'm totally against the US policies and wars,..) and a person embracing an ideology and to be honest I didn't even want to talk about him being in Syria or not.

He's part of a militia who is killing our own people, I'm not even talking about other countries...

Military is different than a quasi military system only designed for terror among its own people and outside. The Artesh is the military —irgc and basij are there to serve the supreme leader and spread/defend, through force, the ideals of Shi’a islam and the velayat fagih system..

Nothing wrong in winning silver.

Yazdani has MANY young players look up to him as a role model. He is a decent human being from a Village in Juybar. He needs all of our supports.
The money that football players and coaches receive are insane. Wrestling coaches even do not get an appreciation letter.

I am happy with Silver but will be more happy with gold.

Please stop political discussion and move it to the IRAN Politics thread if necessary.

Right now, medals are a point of pride for our people, especially when they have been through so much recently. We should be supporting our athletes at the Olympics win or lose. We haven't had much to celebrate as a people in recent times and we need moments like the Iran-Morocco win or Yazdani's winning strike for the country's psyche.
