Whenever I watch him I always think he looks tired but it could just be his demeanour and calmness. The fight against Kuruguliev wasn't too hard on the cardio and I would imagine that he'll be fresh(er) against Amine. Half way through the second round it looked like Kuruguliev was resigned to his fate and consequently didn't push as hard as I feared. Amine has an engine though but as I said earlier he is very open and I hope will be susceptible to Yazdani's superior technique.“I swear it upon Zeus an outstanding runner cannot be the equal of an average wrestler.” - Socrates

I don't think he needed to be ... as per my reply to AGC I always think he looks tired. Amine's cardio is the worry for the semi-final but Hassan may be able to negate that with his experience and technique.Originally posted by shahin2000 View PostI hope I am wrong but Yazdani was not that impressive against the Greek wrestler. Plus he was easily out of breath. This Amine kid has ham hell of an energy. David Taylor was 7-5 with him in 2018 worlds. When Taylor was in his absolute prime. Didn't look that impressive either. Last time Yaz met him he won with 11-5. He is slightly better than Amine. Against Amine we will know. Yaz beat Myles Amine 7-2 in last worlds.Originally posted by shahin2000 View PostI hope I am wrong but Yazdani was not that impressive against the Greek wrestler. Im telling guys this is the most horrible bracket this olympics. We are getting carried away if we think Yazdani doesn't have to wrestle basically.
The question remains: How was his physique?

Not counting any chickens. Yazdani has to beat Amine first but the only comment I would say is that Brooks' strengths appear to be cardio and strength. I wonder whether he has the level of technique that Taylor has ... in other words even if the US has studied Yazdani you need to exploit it.Originally posted by PEJ View PostI know none of us want to admit it, but Brooks in final will be a tough match. The Americans have been analyzing Yazdani for around 6 years now. They know almost every detail about his game. They did an absolutely masterful job with Taylor in neutralizing Yazdani’s underhook game. Honestly after all the things Yazdani has gone through physically the last year, I just wanted an easy path to the gold.“I swear it upon Zeus an outstanding runner cannot be the equal of an average wrestler.” - Socrates

He looked "okay" not great. He looked tired in parts but then his opponent (Kuruguliev) looked more tired. But then so far he has done what he needed to do. I'm hoping he is just keeping reserves in the tank for the semi.Originally posted by AGC View PostThe question remains: How was his physique?
The one concerning aspect was that when he took his opponent to ground he didn't try to do anything and waited for the referee to get them back on their feet. I've noticed that as he has aged he has become less interested in following up but again this may have something to do with his confidence on his feet and that he has things under control.

That Dagestani Guy...of course he is no Greek....was a good challenge. But Yazdani stayed calm even after 1-4 down and secured the win.Originally posted by AGC View Post

You could see from the first second that Yazdani knew that the Dagestani is build stronger than his usual opponents and he put on a much more aggressive Offense what also lead to the 4 points against him....that was icecold Dagestani-Style.
But tbh i was very much satisfied with Yazdanis physique....couldnt see any major flaws from him.

The one thing I always worry about Yazdani is when he falls behind, he usually has a hard time coming back and is prone to giving up more back points. He stayed calm this time and was able to get back after being down 4-1 early. We are lucky that Yazdani is on this side of the bracket. You gotta admit Brooks has had a much more difficult opponents so far.

On TV they said Sarlak couldn't get to Paris in time. It wasn't a weight issue. It really doesn't matter because we hadn't qualified for this weight anyway and this was a bonus gift to us that the serb wrestler withdrew giving us the spot. and honestly if we are being honest Sarlak had no chance against the japanese higuchi in any event.

They first said on IRIB that he didnt made the weight....then that he wasnt there on time....plus he anyway was overweight....then finally said that he was 1 hour late. Only God knows what really happened thereOriginally posted by shahin2000 View PostI am still puzzled about Sarlak. Did they not know he was overweight in Iran? Did they think he was gonna do 5 hours of cardio on the flight to Paris? Something doesn't add up.

Because of all the bullshit in the Middle East too many flights got cancelled. He got to Paris too late. Not a weight issue.Originally posted by shahin2000 View PostI am still puzzled about Sarlak.
