Algeria would be a good friendly match. They almost made it to this World Cup. Their coach was crying his eyes out when they didn't make it. They also have a strong squad. I hope this friendly gets confirmed.Originally posted by Keshwardoost View Postanyone know french?

Plans and prospects are continually changing for the national team who have yet to add a third game to their schedule for this month of June. It's not for lack of trying though. According to our information, the track of South Africa has been abandoned. Instead, the FAF is officially negotiating with Iran.
The information should be confirmed and communicated within hours. But for that, a definitive agreement must be sealed between the Algerian and Iranian federations in the meantime.
Indeed, Iran officially requested Algeria for a friendly game, during the last week of the FIFA window of June. It will then be the third for the Iranian selection which will also face DR Congo and Cameroon. These three matches will all be played in Doha (Qatar). This will make a second consecutive trip to the Greens who will have to go before (June 8) as part of the second day of the CAN-2023 qualifiers
So far, Iran's program has been stalled. But the prospect of playing Algeria in Doha has made Team Melli revise its plans, which hopes to complete three meetings in the same city during the month of June. Indeed, Iran had previously received a proposal from Uruguay for a friendly match in Montevideo but coach Dragan Skočić prefers to play Algeria, the DRC and Cameroon in Doha.
As a reminder, the last time that the Algerian and Iranian selections faced each other in a friendly dates back to March 27, 2018 under the Rabah Madjer era. The Iranians of Carlos Queiroz won with the score of two goals to one.

Don't worry, after the African teams fall through, we'll make our way back to the continent of Asia and even explore Antarctica for possible opponents.Originally posted by milad_b View PostAt this point I'm happy with Palestine , Afghanistan and syria/yemen (if they are available) . I am aware and it's the 2nd time he's done that.Originally posted by M.U.F.C View PostSkocic rejected the friendly. I think he is afraid of big defeat and does not want to put his world cup appearance at risk.
IFF better bring in a new manager (even if it's Iranian) for the World Cup.

I agree. If Iran wants to go to the WC and end up group stage exit as usual, it is better that happens with a top Iranian coach. It seems that Skocic only cares about having coaching at the WC in his resume until he can find jobs after the WC in Asian Arab leagues or Chinese league easier to secure his life financially similar to Branko Ivankovic 2006.
