Venezuela was one of the best regular friendlies to come out of recent years. They always had entertaining games with us, they have one of the youngest leagues (in terms of mins to u21 players) in the world, and have some very solid players in europe. Im so surprised IFF even considered going to the western hemisphere and not setting up a very easy to do game with them

at this stage there are no options. We cant play friendlies with the nearest and most relevant continent. Africans besides the 2 we are negotiating with for Doha friendly are all occupied with their own AFCON qualifiers.Originally posted by The View PostJust a reminder that South and Central America are massive and traveling from Doha to Montevideo, and then to another Latin American capital would be very draining. (Unless it's Brazil Argentina, Paraguay).
Draining or not, we need to have this team tested properly. If it puts the players in uncomfortable situations temporarily so be it, advancing to the next round wont be a comfortable affair either. If we can somehow manage 2 friendlies in S.A that would logistically make a lot more sense to me. But at the end of the day, the chance to see this backline tested by Nunez and Suarez, this midfield ran rings around by Valverde and Co., and our fwds go up against Araujo and Gimenez is way too good to turn down for fear of players being tired.

Darwin Nunez is called up as well.Originally posted by armen View PostLuis Suarez is out with an injury and won't be part of the June friendlies, but Caviani will be available for Uruguay."This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

Lol. They’re already playing Curaçao on june 9th. I had bought a two game pack for seats to both matches in Vancouver (cause it gave me better seat options), but with the refund request after the TM cancelation, they will have some empty seats for that stunning matchup against Curaçao!Originally posted by nisfejahan View PostGreat game if it comes true.

Indomitable Lions: A sparring partner in sight?🔴 Iran is trying to organize an express friendly match with the Cameroon national team. 🇮🇷🇨🇲
The Indomitable Lions begin their rally
As the end of the club season rings at the door, the national selections begin their gathering. This 15-day international break is the perfect opportunity to test the players available. If Cameroon were to successively face Kenya and Burundi for the CAN 2023 qualifiers, they will ultimately only be able to settle for the match against Hirondelles. Indeed, the Harambee Stars Federation has been suspended by FIFA for political interference in football affairs. Therefore, Kenya is excluded from the qualifiers. Cameroon is therefore in a group of three. To fill this void, Rigobert Song and his technical staff opted for opposition against the locals of the national team.
Iran wants to face Cameroon
Although nothing is official yet, Hassan Kamranifar, secretary general of the Iranian Football Federation (IRIFF), has announced that Iran will face Uruguay in Montevideo on June 11 or 12. According to information from Portuguese media Ojogo, IRIFF is also trying to organize a friendly match against the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon in Doha. The timing is relatively short but a sparring partner of this caliber would be a boon for the national team when we know that Iran is also qualified for the 2022 World Cup and is ranked 21st in the FIFA rankings.
The meeting would not be trivial since Dragan Skocic, coach of Iran, had discussed at length with Samuel Eto'o and Rigobert Song in Doha on the eve of the World Cup draw.

Indeed. Here's an interesting message on a Canadian soccer fan forum about the Iran game cancellation, and its effects on the Curacao match:Originally posted by diz View PostLol. Also I'm not sure anyone noticed but once the Iran game was canceled, all the tickets for Curacao that were purchased went back available because they were part of the bundle. So checking over the weekend the were almost zero tickets sold for this game
Apparently, most of the tickets sold for the Curacao match were actually part of the "2 match pack" bundles that required customers to purchase tickets for both matches, presumably by TM fans so desperate to get tickets for the Iran-Canada match that they were willing to shell out for tickets to both games, even if they didn't have the intention of attending the 2nd game. Once those purchases were refunded, tickets for the Curacao match went back on sale, but fans haven't bought them again.

Lol, I had bought a total of 8 tickets to the TM match and the 2-game bundle. Was going to use them all too! Now they're refunded!
