Sardar is tracking back a lot and doing solid defensive work.

Nice footwork by Sardar in the box, but he took too long to decide to shoot or pass and got dispossessed.

Sardar coming back is opening up all that space behind for the wingers. I guess that is the game plan today.

Sardar been out of breath since the 20th min mark.

Sardar with a nice setup for Diaby, but Diaby skies it.

after 8 years of watching him it’s clear that’s his style. He just jogs lightly for the most part. I think he thinks it throws defenders off.

I think he's played fine. As PEJ jan said, it looks like the game plan is for Sardar to drop back and open up space for the wingers in behind. He's certainly playing in a more withdrawn role.

He has done well defensively, looks good in possession. Just had that one chance in the box where he was indecisive (that he helped create himself with impressive footwork).

I understand what many of you are saying, that he looks out of breath, or walking. But that's just his game and style. He conserves his energy, yet turns on the jets when necessary. He had a real good scene in the first half where he tracked back 20 yards and stole the ball.

meh.. not so impressive half from our boy..! had a nice little layoff for diaby towards the end of half otherwise he looked the usual lifeless, day late, dollar short to balls and a step or two behind the play..!!

something is seriously wrong with this guy's fitness and general movements about the pitch ... !! can't really put my finger on it what..!!?

true... he often tries to lul defenders/markers into sleep and then suddenly spring a run forward on them ..! but i really dont think that will suffice for this coach and how he wants his team to be pressing aggressively from up top..!! and i think he knows and been told that by xabi, but can't help himself frequently getting into his lollygagging modes and then all the sudden remember oooh i gotta run and press this guy or oh i gotta track back .... then he ends up being way late to react, a step behind the action on the pitch or ends up clattering into an opponent late or in the box he is way too stationary with a marker hanging right on his ass ... doesnt hustle/jiggle around to open himself better for service ..!!
if the result of this game was close or hanging on balance he woulda been yanked to bench already...!!
