What is your approval rating of CQ (before Chile/Sweden Friendlies)
Collapse

He had a few ups & positives and a few downs & negatives. In the end nothing earth shattering that some make it out to be.

Up until now I have been quiet satisfied with CQ and I still approve of him. I am a little bit disappointed in his latest list though.
Where are the youngsters that are going to replace our aging players like Nekounam, Hosseini, Heidari, Shojaei, Sadeghi etc???!!! I hope the only good explanation is that these youngsters are serving the olympic team right now and will be added to the next list.

Guest repliedLook, it's obvious that pfdc is experiencing an inquisitive like phenomena. If you fail to agree that CQ is supreme, you will be bashed and attacked. Yet, those who agree with CQ are viewed by the critics as sheep, who fail to acknowledge his faults as relevant. Both sides have truths to back up their claims, but the critics seem to be more right then wrong in their arguments. CQ plays with a very depressing mindset, which may be acceptable against the likes of Argentina, but against Asian sides, no way. He lost much of my support after the game against Qatar and the UAE. Not only did we play some of the worst football ever, we failed to progress from the quarters. (even though we fought against corruption, we should have still won IMO). And now he chooses players who will not serve the NT in the coming years, rather then pick 5 or 6 promising guys, who would make great use in the upcoming friendlies. I respect the discipline and strength he has implemented into the program, but he has neglected the up and coming gems of our football for guys like shojaei. Look at the video of the latest training that was posted.. Besides ando, everyone looked pretty bad. Ashkan especially seemed lackadaisical, unlike on his debut, where I thought he was going to be the greatest, or one of the greatest players ever for TM.

Totally agree with everything, I voted 3 for the exact same reasons.Originally posted by O-ZoNe View Post3...our possession game, goal scoring ability, and midfield have not been bad but not great either. Defensively we have become fantastic however, at times the game plan remains to rigid for my liking. I also like the infusion of foreign based players, however, not sure about the "dismissal" of IPL players because some serious talent hasn't really had a chance to shine under CQ. While we have had some memorable moments we have not won anything under CQ which is also rather disappointing.

Extremism is NEVER a solution. How do you expect to change a nation, a culture and all the bad habits and expect it to be all fine ? Dooste Gerami... it is lengthy process and I know we all want it to be done quickly but it is not always that way, It is taking Japan and Korea with all the support and money many years and they are still far behind Europe and how do you exactly expect Us to change everything in a short period of time with practically nothing. We have to be fair..Originally posted by Iran007 View Postwell said.
Yet another WRONG and erronious iranian old ladies tale.
YOU MUST ADAPT TO YOUR ENVIRONMENT....
not at all....
You stand by your principles. Only Iranians and Arabs will ADAPT whenever it fits their agenda and it is beneficial to them and hence the condition those two nations are in.
Coming to a unorganized, corrupt, uninfrastructed, DOZD BAZAR like Iran and adapting to their wrong ways would be the same thing as BECOMING one of them. I dont thik CQ or anyone with any principle would do that. Qale Noie or Derakshan.....yes those would.

Why do you automatically assume it's one or the other?Originally posted by Kiarash View PostAs of now, 74.55% is in support of Carlos Queiroz.
Meanwhile, only 16.36% is in favor of a coach like Amir Ghalenoei or Hossein Faraki.
The facts speak for themselves.
Not everything is black and white.

Amin jaan you are absolutely right but understand changing a nation and its bad habits is a process and not a project that can be done in a short period of time. He has changed lots of things but needs to be lenient in some other aspects. You cannot have your way 100%.Originally posted by AminGP View PostHe didn't come to Iran to adapt to our environment, he came to adapt our football with the world class environment.

It's actually 75% here Amin jaan and I suspect the numbers in Iran would have dropped to around the same levels since the 90 poll because of the latest fiasco.Originally posted by AminGP View PostI voted 4 but I still fully support CQ. People who voted 4 & 5 fall into the 88% category.
At any rate, my point was that 88% of the fans don't feel that CQ's tenure has been perfect or give him a 100% approval rating, the way some gentlemen have been throwing those numbers around.
In fact, the majority of the fans (58%) at least here on PFDC, don't feel that CQ has been perfect or beyond criticism - at least that's how I'm interpreting the results.

Dooste Gerami,Originally posted by ali alipour View PostThe main criticism I have of queiroz is that he wasn't very open to change his defensive approach. Even against teams where it was unnecessary, he still played defensively. It ended up being okay in the asian cup but the Nigeria and Bosnia game could have been different if he had risked more and called up more offensive players.
There is an old saying in coaching that says:
"if you want me to cook the dinner, at least let me pick the ingredients"
No coach likes to lose.
No coach wants to get fired.
CQ has picked the best method that he sees fit for THIS Iranian team to succeed. Again, THIS iranian team isnt very offensive and very talented. So, he has decided to tighten the midfield, play sound football in the back and use the counter attacks.
We must allow every coach to play their system.

That's just his style of coaching. Atletico Madrid plays a similar defensive tactic even against "Granada" who's in the bottom of La Liga. They only had 35% possession of the ball against a bottom team.Originally posted by ali alipour View PostThe main criticism I have of queiroz is that he wasn't very open to change his defensive approach.

Thanks. Adapting to your environment isn't always a bad thing but adapting to our football environment that is in Iran is terrible thing to do.Originally posted by Iran007 View Postwell said.
