It all depends on if he was eligible not if he failed a doping test. If there was a letter from FIFA saying he was ineligible the case is closed (no matter what if the Iraquis deny receiving it). However as this was still pretty decent FIFA may not have made a final determination

Im reading in Iranian sources that FIFA confirmed the drug test results in September which is 4 months ago. A minimum ban is 6 months from day of sentencing so if he is indeed ineligible. We get the win. It wont be that simple but on paper this is ours to ruin Iraq with.

@SeppBlatter please tell me you are real and believe in your own credo Fairplay. Iraq must be disqualified #AsianCupJustice #IraqiDoping
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

No matter how bad I wish this was true and Iran wins 3-0, but the end of the day Arab money does all the talking, even fifa rules wont come into play. our society is really disappointing money rules over anything

                            Another Iraq-sourced article:

                            http://www.iraqfpg.com/Docs.ArabicVi...0/Default.aspx

This one confirms that AFC have communicated with Iraq over the matter so at least they are definitely taking this seriously although it also states that any punishment will be for the player and not the team.

According to the attached article (see below) the verdict is not from the AFC it is a FIFA matter now. They AFC folk are awaiting answers from FIFA!

                              http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/artic...ligible-player

Some people are using the argument that even the player was ineligible and used by the Iraqi team, then the player should be banned and not the team getting disqualified. This does not make any sense since pr. definition he is ineligible and the rules of FIFA apply.

The most important aspect of the case is if we have informed FIFA/AFC about this case BEFORE or AFTER the game
