Not a bad game. Clear counter-attacking style.
We have to really finish our chances.
Shoja was surprisingly excellent.
Mohebbi is very good at every level except the final touch.
Taremi is clearly injured and can't fully extend.
Noorafkan please leave TM.
Ghodoos great but gets tired.
Ezatollahi was man of match.
A good opponent.
I was most happy that from a physical perspective we didn't falter against a very physical team.
I'm seeing a lot of positive sentiment in this forum regarding this match, but if we can't even beat cape Verde without penalties, we are F***ED for the world Cup.
I wasn’t impressed with Cape Verde at all and don’t really think it had anything to do with us. They had no teeth in the attacking third. All they did was just pass the ball around, and we just sat back and waited for the counters.
I hope we face Egypt so we can be challenged for once.
We were challenged today, if they were a bit more critical we could’ve easily lost and we really struggled to create chances (although we should’ve done better on the ones we created)
overall, I’ve yet to see a single game with fluid movement or a clear tactic from GN as coach and the expectations going into the WC are extremely low
Line Up: Questionable
System of Play: Unknown
Future of the team: dismal
Style of play isn’t unknown, it’s clear. There is no style of play or tactic. We could be playing without a coach and there would be no difference. Other than bezan ziresh football that worked against Japan I can’t name a single game we have been impressive the past few years.
no promising youth development, rinse and repeat every game. Morale is low going into the WC

Bro even against Japan, although his 1990's style "tactics" seemed to work, we still needed a lot of luck for that win.... Like the penalty Kanani won (only time in his life maybe lol) last minute for ARJ to barely get us the win. <<< This is Ghalenoei's biggest achievement lol
I agree with what you're saying btw, I just wanted to point that out regarding Japan game and how we're so screwed with this goozoo coach at the world Cup.

We were already challenged by teams like Uzbekistan and even Kyrgyzstan! Lolll
Egypt should be able to clearly outplay us and win by 2+ goals, at the least. I don't follow them but unless they've gotten a lot worse over the last couple years, they should have the clear edge on us.

I actually was impressed. Aesthetically, they play better than us. They showed pace, physicality, and hunger. They took it to us.
I was pleasantly surprised at our defensive shape and discipline. We matched their hustle & physicality. It was a good test before the WC.

That was the game plan. The players and GN said our intent was to test the defense, and let opponents have possession if they want.
We had better chances, more shots, and a higher xG.
Against bigger teams, we will have an even more compact version of this.
Our players need to get healthy.
By the way, Egypt is wildly overrated.
They have 2 very good premiership players, which makes everyone think they'll do well, but look at their results in the past 10 years - it's mostly disappointing.
In a way they're very similar to our teams.
