Lessons from the game is that Taremi cannot run anymore especially against a nonAsian defense.

1) If Taremi is up there he needs support by pace like Mohebbi/Ghaedi etc. Jahanbakhsh next to Taremi is another way of forfeiting the game

2) Transitional defense still needs work. Cape Verde had a lot of shots from outside the box while our team was figuring out which defender needs to step up

3) The pace of a World Cup game is going to test us ruthlessly. I hope we get the slowest paced teams possible

Regarding point 1) Taremi was supported by Mohebi and Hashemnejad yesterday who have a lot of pace. That was one of his most awful TM performances I've seen. Even ignoring his speed that kept killing the attack, he also ball hogged way too much and took like 4-5 extra touches every time he had the ball.

Unfortunately I think that he needs to be retired from TM immediately following the WC. I don't think he's got it anymore unless he's facing a low tier Asian side or a random Greek team. People will defend him but hes always the slowest person on the pitch now no matter where he plays. And that's okay he's almost 35 with a bad case of pubalgia

Egypt is so inconsistent football nation. They have one of the best if not the best league in Africa. Solid team. One day they beat some giant, other day they lose to some crappy one.
i was in Egypt few weeks ago go and many of their fans share the same opinion!
they rely big big time to Abu Salah( his nick bame among their fans) and if he has an off day then they struggle!

Egypt is not a big team, Uzbekistan is far better than Egypt thats why we struggle against them they are same level as South Korea, last time Egypt qualified for world cup in 2018 they finished last with zero points under Saudi
