He is not consisten on crosses, but he has some good ones here and there (on his left). Just look at his assists in Persepolis and TM (to Azmoun most recently).

Regarding Saka and Dest, those are systematic failures, and not on him.

He is the only LB we have who can actual mark a man. Look at his games versus Spain, Portugal and even our recent opponents. He almost always marks well, wins the ball or at least slows the momentum.
I would even go so far as to say he is the only defender I trust on one-on-ones.

He definitely has anxiety though and can't handle things like the 5th penalty. He still had more cojones than most of the other TM players though to take that shot!

I disagree that those are systematic failures, because even at club level he was benched 2 seasons in favor of Haj Safi at AEK Athens before starting for us at the World Cup from 2021-2023.

The bar is so low that we're defending a guy who has occasional good moments once every 2-3 years. At the end of the day the fact is he is just not good enough to be a starter for team melli, and being so anxious prone at almost 33 with a full decade of experience, he is taking up the spot of a whole slew of 19-25 year old Iranian left backs that we could be trying out in that position instead.

On a side note, I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually miss Haj Safi. He was never the fastest and had his bad moments over the years, BUT he had a few plus sides too. His passes were clean and his link up crosses with Sardar were a thing of beauty. He also kept his composure even in stressful moments.

Milad is such a clear downgrade in almost every way besides speed I've been having a anti-Milad agenda on here for almost 4 years and never once has he proven me wrong 😭

Let’s be honest , team Melli goal isn’t to go to the semifinals or even the quarterfinals , I think the max with these player and all the limitations we have is Round of 16 , but even get to the Rd16 , you have to play 3 groups games get out of the group and win 1 elimination game, so 4 games ,,,

For TM it is very important to know basically who we going to face in the group round , and I am 100% sure the IFF is waiting to see who we get grouped with then they going to drop GN and hire a new coach ,
