We had 16 year old kids that beat brazil Germany mexico that went nowhere. Imagine these good for nothing that lose against oman, were about to miss the asian cup and cannot qualify for a 100 team u17 world cup. Shit never transform into gold

I have to respectfully disagree , the issue is much deeper than this. on the footballing side the kids from the last WC with Taghavi were also Instagram generation, some of it is far too much corruption at youth level selection probably worst than the senior team full of sefareshi and kids who their parents probably bribed the club team to get them in , additionally not many decent youth coaches and scouts as the there is not enough investment in the right area to train talented young coaches to obtain coaching licenses from Europe and get experience outside Iran, on a political level given Iran under this regime is pariah state for a good reason , unless its replaced by any group that loosely resemble a decent human being its only going to get worst. it is grossly unfair to just blankly call these kids a bunch of Instagram junkies given they live in an absolutely hopeless country.

^ Sure I understand but when was the last time we won anything in youth level? it's the fault of the IR and federation too but the main problem is the players and their mentality which is hard to create through education. We cant play as a team and we don't believe in ourselves and always want to blame others for our own shortcomings. This is a big cultural issue and also how they spend their times everyday. Are they focusing on bettering their football or do they think they already are good??? to me it is always the second reason. You should be honest instead of making it look good cause it doesn't.

As these young people are supposed to take over the future of Iran? how??? well, this is very alarming to me indeed. If we don't solve the problem soon, we will sink even lower.

We have big culture issues in a lot a field, that would even deserve a thread for its own.
Our U17 play the same messy approximative disorganized style of play since 2 decades but sometimes we have some better players that save us. After all U17 is just a showcase of players to get noticed and brought by Euro teams.

This generation is just too bad, a lot of players without clubs in the squad which tells a lot
