They should of arrived into Asia 2nd level teams after co hosting 07ac but they just couldn't.
but now they might kick start that and be there in next 8 years

They will get there because of their new naturalisation policy (giving passports to Dutchies with an Indonesian grandfather or grandmother). Other than that, their youth is not that good and this win against South Korea was just pure luck.

Their team is literally 10 Eckert’s plus one Indonesian guy. Id bet the majority of their team can’t even speak Indonesian

but hats off to them they are doing what they are doing to get World Cup qualification- other teams in Asia that are predominantly dispora players like Philippines and Pakistan so why can’t Indonesia do it

seeing teams like Malaysia , Thailand and Bangladesh follow suit I wouldn’t be surprised if in 20 years time the majority of Asian teams had their players born and raised outside of Asia

Yeah, but in Eckert’s case, he still has an aunt in Iran, has visited the country, and speaks a few words (even if it’s just Salam, khoobi?).

I know a few Dutch people with Indonesian roots who have never visited Indonesia and don’t speak a word of the language, even though it’s relatively easy to learn.

Indonesia is simply taking advantage of the fact that 10–15% of the Dutch population has some Indonesian heritage. If this trend continues, they’ll definitely become a strong opponent in the future. But I don’t see the same thing happening for most other Asian countries anytime soon. Except for maybe Syria, given the number of refugees that have settled in Europe since 2011.

1-0 NK, this Iranian youth team is awful, no wonder our football not going anywhere

I truly hope I'm proven wrong, but I can't envision this team going far. It has nothing to do with individual skill, they are at level, if not better than the NK players. The system/strategy is non-existent and their conditioning, compared to the NKs is subpar. Our defense has huge gaps and we're relying on blind long-balls, hoping one of our strikers latches on - which hasn't been very often and we lose possession almost immediately.

seemingly crappiest u17 pool we have for many many years.

Usually excellent for asian standards in this age bracket.

Last time was Abdi's great team some of whom are already on fringes of TM. Don't see much hope for any of these doing the same.

Luckily with the way U17 competitions work now, there is one every year or every other year, so we have a constant stream of U17 teams that will be coming in one after another
