We have to be humble and accept that succeeding in big clubs isn't within reach for our players. Being a squad player there is our ceiling.

We also couldn't do much in top leagues, every recent example in England Italy and Germany was a failure despite one or two goal here and there

What do we think the main problem is?

Because after Jahanbakhsh, Azmoun, Taremi, and the list goes on and on and on...
We can't keep using the same tired excuse of "racist manager" or the "manager hates him and doesn't play him" or whatever else...

At some point, the fans have to stop making excuses and ask the real question of what is the main problem for why our Team Melli stars can't succeed at the top level of Europe?

For majority of footballers, it’s all about fit. How does the player fit in with the team. It’s pretty evident while Taremi is on a bit of decline physically, he just doesn’t fit at Inter. The guy can still be a productive player at a mid table Serie A team. Hope he takes another stab at a European club next year. But if he wanted to cash in, nooshe Joonesh. He doesn’t owe us anything and certainly paid his dues to TM.

well, now they will be fighting for 2 cups. UEFA and Seria A. both will be tough. And they could potentially lose both as well. This team is not able to win.

I can’t understand how he suddenly ages in 1 year and has such a big drop in speed and mobility. That doesn’t make sense.

There was a story out a month ago about a recurring groin injury that’s troubled him all season - Pubalgia. This is the only explanation to me. The only question is if he’s been injured all season and only plays with painkillers, then why play at all? Why not take 3 months off to recover? Or is this an injury that won’t go away and so he’s milking the last few years of world class football he has left to go to a money league? Only he and his team know the answer to this.

But I refuse to buy into the aging argument or the “mentally checked out” argument. It’s clear that he’s not 100%. Even compared to the early stage champions league games, he looked like a completely different player from now - constantly pressing and causing deflections. Inter crazy schedule, followed by club world cup (if they keep him) will not help.

inzaghi is slightly losing the plot late in season with those silly wholesale changes earlier in this match...!, and this so during perhaps the most vital stretch of this season for his wore out squad.... !!
tbh they were much better off lining up a B team and go outa this cup competition in the last round b4 setting themselves up for facing such a contentious Semi clash vs their bitter rival with an over-aged and largely spent and injured squad..!!

we got much more Vital fixtures in League and UCL becoming soon and this idiot takes out most 2nd teamers and loading up on exhausted and half-injured starters, in a game he has lil to no chance of making a comeback from..!!

he defo shoulda taken the clearly fatigued and underperforming lauti and mikhi and instead trusted mehdi and mostly 2nd teamers to manage through this largely meaningless match in scheme of the what most important and coming at them fast and furious in short succession next..!!

              FT 3-0

Getting too greedy trying to grab the triple, may well cost them every trophy this season ...!!?

I have not watched a single min of inter games this season. My friend who has, tells me that the rotations are killing the team. When the first team is playing they are at their best, but once they start doing the subs they fall apart. there is a big gap between first team and bench players in quality. Looks like the wheels are coming off.

Taremi plays like shit , but his teammates give him like zero survives at all , his isn’t at allll aggressive at all , he doesn’t not at all take any risks, he doesn’t not take the initiative to get vocal with any of his teammates, he just goes with the flow….

but for TM he ain’t like a 3 games in a row 90 minutes a game player anymore , so we have to invest into new options ..

I think the fit thing is an excuse.
We had Ghoddos and JB in bottom league teams in England, Azmoun in top team in Germany then in Average/good Italian team. Taremi in a top italian team.

We had different case, different managers, different teammates but all failed big.

I think the reason is simple, our players aren't good enough nor used enough to the top top level. It's different to perform in Portugal Holland Russia.. and over perform once or twice in UCL. Not forget we had plenty of players considered as our stars players that failed in portugal belgium russia..

Iranians are too fucking arrogant. Last season before he even touched a ball in rome Azmoun was superior to Lukaku and other KS i was reading. And this season Taremi was better than old man arnautoivic who has 7 goals in less minutes than taremi. what is the logic and reasoning behind making such statements? Saying mine is better than yours only because it is mine is thoughts of 5 year old…

his injury is apparently such that to truly fix it you need to have surgery. Inter did not buy him to have surgery and miss the season. They have a huge rotation issue and most of their players are struggling with injuries.

We lost our generation that could actually compete in top 5 leagues. Hashemian, Mahdavikia, Nekounam, Karimi. Since their retirements we have only seen further erosion in our domestic talent and resources. We have players who are good for second tier European leagues, who can shine on the occasional champions league night, but who don’t have the foundation to be established stars in the top level. The only player in the last 10 years who could do it was Dejagah, and he was a product of the German system. It is sort of a bummer because for some of us football fanatics, we have been dying for a secondary reason to follow a top team, the same way Koreans became fans of Spurs or United.

I stand by what I have said in the IPL thread. Since we are not investing in our youth. We need to at least allow younger players to play in our IPL league. Make it a requirement that half the roster be made up of players younger than 25, with half of those be U21. Let the number of over 30 players to 5-7 per team.

that is the only way we will be able to get younger players into our league and replace the older players.

You hit the nail on the head. It’s not rocket science. We, Iran, do not have ANY players worthy of playing on world class team. Every one of of players who got the chance to do so flopped. This is not necessarily a bad thing. We can be one of the best teams in Asia and still admit we have no actual superstars. I would be super content with having all of our players playing in Portugal, Netherlands, top team in Russia, and Turkish league rather than pray they get 10 minutes in a UCL match and maybe score a goal every few months.

                              everyhting you’ve said is correct

Overall, he didn’t have a bad game. Inter continue to not play aesthetically pleasing football.
tbh thats been their main achilles heel of late in terms of putting the proper finishing touches vs the supposed minnows on the many, Many golden chances that these game present to them, Like today in the first half ..!

they always either overly rush the proceedings or most all their attackers become way too greedy & try to go it alone for tge glory Instead of Keeping their calm & composure to make that simple last pass for the easy goal..!
Mehdi is trying too hard and going way outa his way trying to make up for that deficiency with overly unselfish play inside the box or anywhere near the goal ..!
PerhapsHoping Against Hope that his attacking teammates, get the clue and return the favor Once in a fkn while, but no dice..! :/
Most all these Greedy Cunts are looking for themselves at this level of game and Always trying to show off Individually in order to ensure their continued stay at a top club..!
Hopefully he’ll be either loaned or sold to a club in the top 10 SerieA next season..!
I think if he fully recovers from his latest injury, setback and achieve his old stamina & Physical prowess back, by the club World Cup times ..!
There is a good chance SC will come asking for his services next too if he is free & SC has any sway in player recruitment at Milan , .!?
