    GN, 2007 AC Resume

bounced out of the Quarterfinals by S. Korea

    we had:

1 player in Serie A, Rezaei
1 player in La Liga, Nekounam
1 player in the Premiere League, Teymourian
1 player in Cypriot first division, Zandi
3 players in the Bundesliga, Kia (hamburg), Hashemian (Hannover), Karimi (BM)

We had Hashemian who had scored 46 career goals in the Bundesliga sitting on the bench, while this buffoon of a coach (GN), had Enayati (the Jasad) and Khatbi (I love to miss open goals) in the lineup wearing down the poor linesman who had to raise his offside flag every 5 min. The same Khatibi who insisted on taking the first PK only to deliver a gift to the fans in the upper part of the stadium.

Yes, clearly GN, the coach of Gol Gohar, a team with a stadium capacity of 7,000 which is smaller than most junior college football stadiums in the US, is the right candidate to take TM and it's legionnaires to the next level.

Clearly GN is a horrible choice, but to continue with CQ is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting different outcomes.

        Beautiful video of Iraq

Just to slightly put into context the expectations of our friends when it comes to the national team in the current state. I saw few fellow members saying "we shoulda been Morocco" and it hammers home how much the realism of Iran isn't there.

By far the best possible option now is Ghalenoei. Even then we will see a divided squad and I doubt we will see the front pairing we have been used to play together.

While I agree with your general opinion of GN, I’d like to make a small correction for historical accuracy…. Hashemian started every game and was accompanied by one of Enayati or Khatibi in AC 07….

2007 ac galenoie had ali karimi in his prime
            but
gn 17 years ago is a different gn that is today..
if we going persian yes gn is the best choice..
            But
Taj dont like persian coaches , and he don't like eastern European coaches either, so I won't be surprise
if we get western European coach.

Among the candidates I can remember mentioned by Taj in the interview, or rumored, he is my clear favourite.

POLL coming up as soon as I have some more candidates.

So far, I have picked up:

              CQ, GN, MAJIDI, YAHYA, BRANKO
please add those i have missed so there are some more options instead of the OTHERS button.
The only tm head coach I have ever turned against
and bashed all these years has been skocic.
I PERSONALLY WILL SUPPORT any hc that
              become tm coach .

If Ghalenoei gets the job he knows he need to win the AC to get a contract extension.

The question is how much better he has become during these last 16 years?

I think he has improved a lot, but will it be enough to bring home the cup?

Gn is very very very improve coach than 17 years ago. Day and night so if persian he should be it.
ASKING GN TO WIN THE ASIAN CUP
WHICH WE HAVENT WON IN 48 YEARS ITS NOT FAIR to be condition to keep him until 2026 wc.
if he could get us to semifinal match should be enough for extension.
and if he get us to final of ac
                  He truly deserved"dodol talayee" trophy

yes, you are correct, but for the quarter final, he was subbed out in the second half for I believe Enayati. Enayati and Khatibi were GN selections and should never have been on the roster, let alone on the field at the same time. GN showing favoritism to players from Esteghlal

We need to win it now, enough of this QF/SF bullshit. One year contract and if he wins it , we extend.

He has the best resume of a coach to ever step foot in Iran objectively, aside from CQ and Ivic who probably have the best.

He won two K league titles and was assistant coach for Mourinho at Inter, Real Madrid, and Chelsea. The man has been a part of top flight football working under one of the best coaches to exist.

No Iranian coaches please they all mess up. GN or Majidi are really bad. We need the IFF to purchase a good foreign coach if it is not CQ.

Judging by this ranking, Paulo Bento might be an intetesting option. I believe he parted ways with Korea? Korea played beautiful football during his time.

Yet he struggles in Sepahan. Not impressed by the way Sepahan has played in most games this season.

Morais is in same level as a persian coach,
rather have morais over persian coach.
                                Morais is less drama
