Sure I do. Yemen coach has the same objectives as France coach...why else play football? Also don't forget Iran was Asia's number 1 team. Did we really live up to those expectations? If that wasn't the point then why fire Skocic and bring CQ? Then goal was to improve right?Originally posted by PSGman#19 View Post
Results in regard of the context and our real (not supposed) ability matter. You don't judge Yemen coach like France one
CQ quoted Mandela in saying we don't lose we only learn. What did we learn under CQ? If you perpetually end up with same results and outcome then you are a perpetual loser who hasn't learned anything...you learn in order to become better...to improve.

About the "lose to learn and improve thing", yes in theory, but football mostly isn't linear. Germany suddenly crashed and 4 years after failed again. And it's germany. WC22 group stage showed it too : for a lot of teams : 1st game was good then 2nd was bad and then 3rd was good (or vice versa). Football is full of high and low.
About TM, it seems we are judging it as if we were another NT and country we aren't. All the asia number 1 thing was BS. Like the US was never 12st in the world before the WC and such things.
Our federation is incompetent, we have no relation with the big footballing countries, our country is in shamble, our pool of players is inferior to all WC participant, except Qatar, costa rica maybe. Out of this mess ans context where everything is against us, how do you expect us to do better than what we did in 2014, 2018, 2022?
Of course, we can debate about players and if and or, but our results are just on par or even slightly better than our terrible state.
Unlike in 2006 where our stars underperformed and our IPL amateur players around didn't step up, CQ could have some random IPL players to step up to WC level (Pooladi among best WC LB in 2014, Ebrahimi/Amiri in 2018, Jalali and Rezaeian in 2022).
Instead of this constant CQbashing, which coach better than CQ would accept to come in Iran and have high change to do better with TM? I am curious

I don't rate cq very highly. So I would be willing to give the job to Kateb's great aunt (KGA khanoom). All jokes aside...look at some of the names in the ipl. Skocic came from there and gave us a miracle qualification....why not give another foreign ipl coach a chance. We don't have to marry a coach. Cq was TM coach for too long. Things got stale and unconvincing shortly after 2014.Originally posted by PSGman#19 View Post

Skocic was working in Iran football for many years, I think it helped him a lot do to better than expected.Originally posted by O-ZoNe View Post

The 3 other foreigners are in Iran since some months ago, are not doing really well and I suspect them to do like Locadia/Stramma soon.

Sang moft gonjishk moft. We know what CQ has to offer. No risk no reward, enough playing it safe with a has been coach using 1990s football strategy.Originally posted by PSGman#19 View Post

Many of you didn't even think CQ would come in first place let alone for another stint in 2022. I'm sure some young talented coach wants to prove himself. This is were we need to look. Find an up and commercial. Skocic had a lot of incentive and did it for 1/5 CQ salary. We can find others.

We may not like cq (I agree about criticism on his selection and the way we played) but he did slightly better with TM than the real level of our pool of players.Originally posted by O-ZoNe View PostSang moft gonjishk moft. Which young talented coach is ready to come in Iran with all the crap shown on worldwide TV news since years? I want to hear some name.
CQ in 2011 wasn't that young, worked in lot of exotic countries before, sanctions weren't that bad, currency and economy better, did have spectacular red alert every year like we have since Trump time

We will have to wait and see. Right now unfortunately seems like IFF and IRGC crook Taj want their yes man CQ in charge. Once he abandons them as has been his tendency I'm sure other options will come up. Time and circumstances will tell.Originally posted by PSGman#19 View Post

Iranian football is so twisted we need either a top coach (who will never come) or a foreigner that is ready to invest himself in Iran or already know Iranian football really well from inside.Originally posted by O-ZoNe View PostWe will have to wait and see. Someone with a winning mentality. Not a self-proclaimed top 10 coach who only fails wherever he goes.Esteghlal 💙💙

Sorry to burst your bubble but the only thing that matters in football are results. It is that black or white.Originally posted by Keshwardoost View PostBut calling his cups failiure are braindead arguments. 2014 was a success in it self to even get there, we made some good games aswell. 2 good games played. 2018 4 pts in that group cant be called failiure. 3 good games played. No success but def not failiure. 2022 with all around TM cant call it success neither failiure. Definately dissapointment but not failiure. And he had like a month or two.
The only ones that failed were iff during ex president shahkar majedi and TM managemt during that period, aka sko and estili and tot. But that seems to be forgotten.
Ac is Ac, cant blaim cq for players running to the ref.
This failure talk is so wrong and so black or white.
Whole argument is kaputt
Let me simplify his results for you to understand that the only thing that is brain-dead is wanting to continue with this charlatan:
2014 WC: Group stage exit
2015 AC: QF exit
2018 WC: Group stage exit
2019 AC: SF exit
2022 WC: Group stage exit
Those are the results people remember, not 1-2 good games here and there.
IFF failed with both Skocic & CQ, not only Skocic.
"AC is AC"
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
CQ is 100% to blame for players running to the ref.
Have you already forgotten how he ran after the ref during HT vs Iraq ( 2015 AC) when we were UP 1-0?
If not for Ansarifard only god knows what he would have done to Ben Williams.
You expect the players to act differently when we have a coach like that?

Talent means "natural gifts"? What the hell is natural gifts? Do you mean DNA? Natural gift mean nothing without development. Tell me one great player that has natural gifts without having been trained and developed under a great coach. Can someone with natural gifts become a concert pianist without training and development?Originally posted by Saam View Post
I don’t even understand what you’re trying to say. TALENT. Do you know what talent means? It means natural gifts. Nobody DEVELOPS them? Who developed all of the players I listed? Was it Branko ivankovic? 🤣🤣. That was a golden generation of our football where we had a whole bunch of good players popping up.
Take Taremi for example. Did he improve more under 4-5 years with CQ or during the last three years in Portugal under two great coaches?
After having a team for 8+ years, saying a coach has nothing to do with player development is ridiculous.
You can't have a golden generation of footballers without anyone developing them. THEY DON'T JUST POP UP!!!
I think I am going to stop this conversation with someone that thinks a coach has nothing to do with player development.

Lol. CQ has had 5 tournaments and delivered 0. Which other coach in our history has had as many chances?Originally posted by Hosseini View PostThank you for providing my exact point Peiman jan. The exact pooroo mentality like this expecting shit to turn into gold no matter the situation and context - like the political crises happening as we speak in Iran
And you call it pooroo mentality to demand results after 10 f'ing years?

Since when a NT coach that see a player 2 weeks every 2 months can develop him like the club coach that see him every day?Originally posted by Farzadfarhangni View Post

Just look at the opponents that eliminated us…. Bosnia, Iraq, Japan, US… Only Portugal was a really difficult one. And I think there was only 2 players from the first four that were considered even close to ‘world class’ at some point in their careers - Dzeko and Pjanic. And then look the coaches who beat him… I wouldn’t even give my own child as many chances as some want to give Queiroz. Enough is enough.Originally posted by peiman92 View Post
