Iran is 21st in the New Fifa World Cup October rankings.

US/Mexico ahead of us.

Canada is behind us but due to their host status will be in Pot 1 anyway.

This makes Iran in Pot 2 with South Korea and Ecuador rounding it out with Austria just falling into Pot 3.

There will be one more set of rankings after the November qualifiers which will be the official ones for the draw.

It probably wont matter when it comes to how poor our team has been but if we want to play two games against big teams would be better to fall into Pot 3.

I think that is basically everyone in the TM community besides a low minority who are coping hard. Just think of it as an end of a generation similar to the period from 2010-2014

I fear this idiot is gonna try his hoojoomi, high press bullshit tactics @ WC with a slow ass, half injured/played out squad & we gonna ship out a ton of goals ..! His only saving gace would be Getting Real lucky @ the wc draw..!
I skipped buying tickets for time being I got a lot of shit going on next summer including a wedding trip to Mexico, which may be right around the game times and I’m almost certain we’re gonna end up in Mexico‘s group and play all our games Away from US.!

My biggest concern going into next year’s World Cup is Azmoun’s and Taremi’s fitness. They are our best players. Azmoun is already injured, and Taremi’s status will be chronically shaky.

GN has no clue how to build depth in a roster. CQ, hate him, or love him, was a master of this. This is why Majid Hosseini shined in 2018, and even in 2022, Jalali played admirably in his cameo.

GN has wasted so much time forcing a peg in a round hole with players like Moghanlou and Shoja.
Even though I was gutted after the USA result in ‘22, if CQ wasn’t let go after AC’19, we would’ve beaten the USA. He’d have plenty of time to
revamp his squad.

GN heavily relies on our star players to bail us out.

100% - How could we have expected CQ to undue what Skocic had done for 3 years, within 1.5 months of the world cup starting after he was hired?

I also believe if he had stayed, we would have put up a respectable performance VS England and defeated USA to advance to Round of 16.

CQ ;
was a Defensive minded coach , who wanted his players to be disciplined, physical fit , and have team mentality, he was a defense 1st type of coach, he preferred athletic players , who had good endurance and but didn’t care about speed to much cause we be sitting back for most of the game , also psychical capable defenders can handle strong attacking players, he skills was all in the formations and system …
To neutralize the offensive players by using a zone and holding the midfield players forcing them to use the flanks and crosses

Skocic ;
he was more of an offensive minded coach who wanted to win games and was less concerned how we won them , be was more fluid tactical, that means if we had to play defensive we could and then play offensive when we should , he wasn’t so stuck on one system , he preferred faster players over endurance, I think .

GN;
he has no tactics or philosophy, he doesn’t really introduce any new players

we need a coach who is a mix of CQ and Skocic , Skocic was more of a modern coach , CQ was more of the old school coaches,

I know everyone thinks about it , but I think Skocic would have taken more chances and we could have probably beaten USa at the World Cup with him cause that USA team was very young and inexperienced, if you scored 1 goal on them they would have collapsed , I know Skocic would have taken ghadie and Mohebi for sure …

The problem with Skocic was the team lacked defensive structure. It was apparent when we played Algeria in a friendly. Our defensive shape was awful.

Our friendly against Uruguay under CQ was one of the best performances against a superior team.

CQ had his flaws, for example, not stacking the midfield and not starting Ghoddos vs USA.

But to me, CQ was our best coach from at least the last 20 years, and it’s not even close.

We're all worried my friend! very worried! - our team doesn't even have the basics right: optimal fitness required just to keep up for 90 minutes, some speed, and a defensive minded structure since we obviously won't dictate the game against most opponents besides maybe New Zealand and a couple more minnows. - who knows what even would happen VS New Zealand after seeing our $hit performances Vs the likes of Kyrgz / Uzbekistan, etc.

our squads professionalism and desire to improve by playing in Europe has completely gone down the drain - back to the pre CQ era here we go

you can see clearly CQ was biased , I have to give credit where credit is due but khalizadeh ,kanani , mohrami and Jalili deserved to play against the USA they where much better defensive line up than milad, pouraligani, hosseni and ramin ,,,

and you see clearly against Uruguay we had a significant different line up we played 4-1-4-1, Ghoddos and torabi played most of the game in the mid field, they were able to hold on to the ball well , we controlled the midfield for some parts of the game and the defensive players won alot of individual battles for us..

vs the USA we played 4-4-1-1 and only Sardar, Taremi and gholizadeh were offensive player everyone else was a defensive player ……we had zero control of the midfield, the UsA control the midfield field , the defense was ok , other than the mistakes, but offensive players were non-existent and we lacked creativity,

CQ was the best we ever had , but he was also very shrewd in his tactics and loyalties , if he despised you as a player he didn’t care how good you where he wouldn’t play you , he was like the god father ,,,, which I mean it was his way or the highway I guess

Skocic was more a realist, he was willing to work and make it happen,

Mohebi and ghayedi were 2 players CQ dropped before the World Cup , I mean maybe they could have helped us against the USA , but to be fair World Cup 2022 was supposed to be skocic to coach win or lose and plus it could have been a swan song for alot to these players that now we having a hard time to get ride of now … cause of past grudges…
