We’ve suffered due to Ghalenoei’s lack of experimentation and his boring lineup. Man had no tactics and strategy and was simply bailed out because the weak defences in our group couldn’t deal with Azmoun and taremi . Once they have retired we will be in deep shit .

everything he did was just to prevent himself from being sacked rather than genuinely being good for the team

felt sorry for shakzardeh and hosseinjihad they went to Europe and took initiative and weren’t rewarded for their efforts and were stuck in the abyss

instead of some JB , etc , we need play some younger studs and lose every games it will be ok … I think if you want progress we need to take risks and be a team that isn’t scared or giving a chance to young players

look at Irans volleyball team , they go young every 3 to 4 years , and are always competitive

look at Iran’s basketball team they all young now

      Iranian wrestling team etc…
IFF is utterly abusive towards our U Omid football teams at all levels...!! they simply dont give a flying fk about them and treat them as such with hiring of inept coaches, no proper camps etc.
they generally dont give a fk about our football and only tend bare min to TM, because of its high profile and general public pressure to do so ..!
it's no surprise that we have next to zilch grass root football and only spot a gem or two here and there when they somehow rise to top against all odds ....

      plus

GN is as always selfish and in survival mode still and doesnt want to risk getting replaced before WC by taking any chances with inexperienced youngins..

at WC much will depend for us on luck of Draw ... unless we get super lucky and grouped with a tokhmy couple of teams, we aint getting outa of it Again

It’s hard to get excited for Iran’s World Cup run when it’s the same old core from 2018 and 2022, the same group that already had their shot and it didn’t work. We need fresh legs and youthful energy, players who are hungry to prove themselves on the biggest stage and willing to hustle for every ball. The sad thing is, we actually have some exciting young talent right now, guys like Andarz, Reyvandi, Hosseinejad, and Zare should be starting in friendlies and building chemistry, not sitting behind veterans whose best days are behind them. Form is overrated anyway; Azmoun didn’t have to score 50 goals in the IPL to prove his quality, and these young players don’t need to either. Instead, we’re still stuck with the same old names like Shoja, JB, Ghoddos, and others, and it just feels stale. Even living in America, where I’d normally jump at the chance to watch Iran at the World Cup, I’m honestly not that motivated this time. I just want to see Team Melli with some new faces, fresh energy, and the kind of ambition you can only get from players with everything to prove.

Said it once and ill say it again we should've sacked a ghalenoi the minute he was starting old players against hong kong at the asian cup- that game was the perfect opportunity to bed new young players .

CQ punished players for going to shitty leagues and actively pursued Iranian-Americans (Steven Beitashour) or Japanese-Iranians (Aria Jasur) because he wanted more professionalism at all cost - now we are still waiting for Eckert's documents , still faffing away not giving young players a chance and playing the same old guard with no change wanted

And JB said in an interview that he wanted new young players to be given a chance- i disagree- TM is way too cliquey and the players are too comfortable - Azmoun and Taremi reign supreme even with poor fitness and poor form they are still our best players.

The ease of asian qualification now has hid our problems - but we've conceded against poor opposition this campaign - defensively we've been a joke too

its interesting that our league's budgets are higher than Uzbekistan yet theyre producing way more youth prospects than we are and are dominating every level of football - where is this money going? it seems the richer clubs get in iran the more they burn money on useless foreign signings or overhyped iranian players - the wealth is poorly allocated. Its there- but its mispent

any tokmy team can score against us

if Krgyz and Joel kojo can manage 2 goals against us then most teams in the world would create opportunities v us

we've been defensively awful - but so too have the top ipl teams, there are just no good young defenders coming through

You saw how Sephanan fc lost today 3-2 , this is what happens, when you have an Iranian coach who is scared of defeats ! They had a whole 1.5 month to prepare for the game they should have played against harder opponents who would challenged them more ,,,

taremi and azmoun do have a place on the next WC squad though. And they should.
