Disagree. We are very much glass half full people (even when it's more than half).
We qualified half-assedly 3 months in advance.

The older I get the biggest issue we have (and so does all of Asian football by that same extent) is that we are not exposed to high level football.
No Asian club or team is going to be allowed into UEFA, so we are cursed to play at a level that can't go much higher.

We need to be thrown into the deep end and play high level football that requires more than just pure raw talent and physical advantage.

Hence why we need some sort of nations league to replace friendlies and qualifiers need to be reworked. I would rather play Saudi/Japan/SK/Australia at least every 1-2 years than face random African countries and bottom tier teams like Chile who we beat 1-0 with ease...

CAFA is useless too...we should not be spending time playing Aghanistan every 2 years

The goal post keeps getting moved.

First it's "CQ would never invite out of shape and old player", but when I point out that he did exactly that and in two of his three world cup appearances with us, we had the oldest squads, now it's "Well sure he did that, but he used the old players well".

If his name was Carlos Queiropour or Carlos Queirozovic, nobody would be this level of mental gymnastics to make him be something he wasn't.

As for GN, I'm not defending him, and I think he needs to be replaced today by literally anyone except a former Team Melli coach.

CQ wasn’t perfect, but he revolutionized our football. He made our defense, which was our weakness, our strength. He gave opportunities to younger players like Majidi, Mohammadi, and Pouraliganji. Brought players from Europe. Fought and squeezed out of our federation what he could.

He set a good precedent that I think we should look to in our future coaches. They should at the minimum be at the level of CQ.

Even when CQ had a short period of time with the team in WC 2022, Jalali was a nice revelation in the USA game. Who knows? Maybe under CQ’s tutelage he would’ve gotten better.

This Chile team will be a very good challenge.
They're still a CONMEBOL team and will be brining in all the hungry new players as they are going to replace their whole team.
Will be a good test for us. Also CONMEBOL teams besides Argentina and Brazil really play friendlies at a high intensity.

Only problem with that is tm will eventually start losing to 2nd l, 3rd level asian teams regularly. It only benefits weak teams.
