    Agreed!

But my question now is: if CQ fails to take Iran to WC, despite what ever reason (may it be the always present lack of professionalism by IFF, the lack of quality by players, injustice by AFC, bad luck, or whatever), do we give him the chance to continue and build TM and try to bring a bit of structure to the Iranian football? Or do we ask for his resignation by his first loss following a draw?

    Majid Jan salam....
You may be right, that babak is not the one to point out members' wrong doings !....
But, you , please, I expect to point your finger at the right guilty parties...specialy the ones who have introduced vocabulary, unusual for F +........
If I or babak have faulty reasonings.......we could be either ignored or countered with better reasonings......and " Not Just being rediculed ",as you correctly termed " devilish provocation "..without any explanations.....

I'm the last one who will say you shouldn't make fun of other people......or their view points. But I do at least think its not a bad idea to point out why those view points are wrong (at least in my/your opinion).

Life is a bit boring without sarcasm

BTW just because I have argued against your last couple of points, and the fact that Amir and you agree on the same points doesn't mean you have to "retaliate" (for a lack of other word) like this.

Amir is old and more than capable enough to stand up for himself. Which I don't think is even necessary as I didn't mean to insult him or call him name

It's nothing personal it's just an observation.......he can either think about it for a sec and see what I meant or just ignore it and think that I should go and......you know

btw "Eisenstein" (typo?)? You're giving me too much credit......I have a hunch that Einstein's IQ was a tiny bit higher.....and he definitely did more with that than wasting time on a football forum

It doesn't mean you are wrong or your questions are invalid, or your "opinion" is wrong, we are just trying to look at the situation from different angles.

Normally, the performance of the TEAM in the second game should have shown slight (again, slight!) signs of improvement.
Instead, Team Melli's display in Male got worse, compared to the game in Tehran.
    Why?

Apples and oranges......situation and objectives had drasticaly changed.....and so did the game plan

2- Almost everyone agreed after the first game that Pouladi, Zare and Nowrouzi dissapointed.
Even Queiroz himself looked to confirm this by subbing these exact players in Tehran.
Surprizingly though, all three were back in the line-up in Male.
    They dissapointed again, maybe more.
So, why were they used again, when others like Mahini got no chance to show their abilities?

creating Consistancy and avoiding risks ,dictated so as well as giving secound chances to confirm initial judgements

3- You are 4-0 up from the first game and 1-0 up after the first half of the second match.
Its 5-0 on aggregate. Your team is 99,9% qualified.
You have a forward, Karim Ansarifard, who risks becoming suspended for the all-important first game in the next round.
    Why don't you replace him?

friendly games are for testing players, not WCQ........the total playing selection plan required not jercking out players

4- In your starting "11", there is a 32-year old veteran who even in his prime didn't have the best physical shape.
Your team is playing in the hot and humid Male.
Your 32-year old veteran, Ali Karimi, is having a horrible game.
He gives bad passes left and right.
He is losing those one on one battles.
To top it off, he gets nutmegged by a maldivian opponent.
Why not sub him out with a younger player?
If Karimi shows clear signs that he can't cut it against Maldives, isn't it a good idea to start preparing his replacement by giving him a chance to play in a meaningless game in Male?

Again the decision as who to play was taken prior to the game, unless desprate circumstances required otherwise......, which did not

5- Hadi Nowrouzi starts two back to back games and shows two horrific performances.
Saeed Daghighi comes in the final 10-12 minutes of the match in Tehran.
He scores one and misses another good chance.
He is not given even one minute of playing time in Male.
    Why is that?
Why is it that a player who didn't score and performed poorly got more playing time than a footballer who made the most of the little chance which was given to him?

.....again this line of questioning is redundant...and already answered........The players were chosen based on practices and decisions by coaching staff prior to the game.......there did not exist any circumstances to make major devations from the original plans

6- Carlos Queiroz has decided to fly all the way to Brazil to see the World Cup draw in Rio de Janeiro, something he can also watch on TV.
According to press reports, if they are accurate, after the World Cup draw, Queiroz will start a 15-day vacation!
Iranian Premier League kicks-off this coming week.
This means the national team coach has the opportunity to see potential candidates for a place in Team Melli.
Unfortunatly, he won't be able to do that from his home in Portugal.
Another problem: 10th of august is the LAST FIFA DATE before Iran's first World Cup qualifier in september.
Virtually, the entire footballing planet has a game scheduled on this date.
Iran is among a very few countries that won't play anyone on august the 10th.
How could they, when the coach is on vacation?
Does anyone think that Queiroz's vacation comes at a bad time?

Queiroz ,like all other head coaches needed to attend the Brazil conference....if you want to save money,do it some place els.........as why there was no freindly schedualed ?...ask IFF ....and as for the league games......it is too soon to pay careful attention

Kaiser jaan, if CQ does not make it with team melli, the next best option would be Ghale'noi, without any doubt!

    1. Regarding the striker and goal droughts issues: you're a journalist so I assume you should have enough material to read for a better understanding.

    2. Stop defending Daei with every breath you take, we get the point and nobody actually said anything against Daei here

    3. Regarding the goal: just because nowroozi sucks it doesn't mean Daghighi is good. And outrunning a player who has already played for 80+ minutes while you've just started is not really something to brag about. Neither is scoring a one on one with the goalie after receiving a squared pass like that.

    4. Regarding the CQ's time off: one IFF had to deny him the request if witnessing the opening game of league was so important for him, after a training camp and 3 friendly matches and 2 official games drink a month period.

    5. I like your posts and contributions to PDFC in general, but you seem to be to emotional recently. Which is understandable due to the poor performance of TM. But we have to try to keep a clear mind and have reasonable expectations of a medicore team of players, who btw day in day out proove to be the most unprofessional athletes around (if anything we read here about them is realiable news).

First of all, interesting replies by everyone.
    Enjoyed reading them.
Too bad the man who SHOULD HAVE answered some of these questions opted to hide from the press and sent his assistant instead...

Anyway, while I can accept the difference of opinions, I'm baffled by some of Babak agha replies.

If Ansarifard who showed he can actually finish, at least, against Maldives, is suffering from all the above, then excuse me, he should be in a mental institute, not on a football pitch!

Since when leaving an insecure forward who has psychological problems and can't finish on the pitch is a good idea?!?!

Why should such a handicapped player take the place of a NORMAL player in an official match?!?

What good will it do him?
More importantly, have you considered how this insecure player with psychological problems can hurt the TEAM?!

    WOW!
    Mind blowing logic.
Who would have thought that a simple substitution could finish a player, not for one week, one month, but for TWO YEARS?!

Again, you seem to forget that football is a TEAM sport.
Its no place to heal the wounds of a suffering individual IF his problems are hurting the TEAM.

No serious coach would allow a player to stay on the pitch if, as a consequence, the TEAM is suffering.

A good opportunity WOULD HAVE BEEN to test those other options against the Maldives, not to throw them directly in the starting "11" against, lets say, Saudi Arabia, in the first game of the next round.

I just love it how we use the term lucky goal whenever we want to minimize the efforts of a certain forward.

For years, certain people did this to ALI DAEI, rating his goals as easy, claiming anyone could have scored four, five time against the Maldives.

Well, as time showed us, there was NOTHING easy about ALI DAEI's goals and, these days, we are praying to find a forward who can at least score a few goals against Maldives.

Back to Daghighi, there was nothing easy about his goal.
He lost his marker, positioned himself well and finished cooly.
If you translate all that into an easy goal, then why on earth Hadi Nowrouzi couldn't score at least one against the same Maldives team?!

    Yes, you're right.

But, is it also normal for the national coach of a team with LOTS OF PROBLEMS to take a vacation when:

A- The league, the competition which could serve the coach with posibile solutions, is about to kick-off?

B- The last available FIFA date before our next official game is fast approaching and we're one of the very few teams on this planet which DOES NOT have a friendly?!

In my book, there is nothing normal about the TIMING of Queiroz's 15-day vacation.

If anything, its a clear case of bad timing, coupled with lack of responsibility.

Like I said I'm pro replacement of Karimi, and giving young players a chance even if they are still not close to the level of Karimi today.

But we have to be realistic.

Cause I'm still baffled by a list of 14 players!!!

To be honest I can't even name 10 Dutch players who could play on the attacking midfield position on the Dutch team instead of Sneijder. How many actual attacking midfielders are even in Iran?

The only way to it is to change the formation and the game plan, cause eventhough we are used to see our vatani coaches playe shojaei as lone striker, CF, LW, RM, AM, LAM, and CM or playing Nikbakht as ST, CF, LW, LM and LB I don't think our buddy Carlos will select just anybody who fans think are midfielders as th AM for TM.
