    hahaha

you actually thought I write down all that stuff BEFORE the game and that's why I put it up as soon as the game's over?

what, you think I got a crystal ball to predict who does what in a game?

the only matters that may throw you off are the list of issues expected discussed before a game and those events/issues occurring during the game.
for example shojaie's lackluster performance which was expected. or the lone striker's impotency, or ... many similar topics.

and you dont need to have a crystal ball to get many of these issues right. all you need is to OBSERVE ( not merely watch ) the TM games and those particular players and you'd reach the same conclusion.

a clear example is in the thread :
The members of this forum are selected by the F+ members of this site according to the quality of their posts, their disciplinary measures and relative activities. Members can not apply to be able to post and only admins will add and invite members.

after the ksa game where several issues were highlighted which were to be expected . not becoz someone could see the future, but becoz they observed the past.

    ===============

well, a third rated brazilian can also get through the current 4-2-3-1 also.
    so what's the difference?
this is what: one team is built to take a hit maybe, but is equipped to score more goals or at least stands better chance at scoring them.

oh, btw, why shd we go get a brazilian.
we all know how lowly the uae players are rated among iranian fans.
but even such lowly inferior players cut through our 2 man DM line and subsequently the 4 man defense ... REPEATEDLY , time and again and did whatever they felt like doing. so much that we were lucky we didnt finish that game 4-0 behind .... only saving grace : our goal keeper.
    not the two DMs.
    not the defenders.
    but the goal keeper !!!!!

now, if you have "studied" all those football magazines you ought to recognize when a goal keeper has to save a team's behind on countless occasions, it naturally means that team's defensive strategy and formation was an utter FAILURE.

    -----------

nobody claimed mobaali is the complete player.
he , like every other player in the world ( yes, even messi ) has his weaknesses too.

but in Iran, you need something else too:
    fan support & media love.
you're either a part of the popular ss or pp teams or you belong to the "other" category. and hardly anyone from the "other" category gets half the support, media coverage and push that ss/pp players get.
on top of that he goes and tackles daei and ..... rest is history.

anyway you wanted to know what I see in him:
apart from being a very good ball distributor and having very good vision ... both prime requisites for a good playmaker,
his shooting is among the best in Iran ( something that we dont have at TM ),
his freekicks are right on top of the pile too ( rarely seen in TM ).
his long diagonal passes are rivaled only by the great bagheri, which creates the perfect counter or change of flanks for a team.
he can cross the ball from both left & right flanks as good as anyone you can name
he is also TWO-footed ... which is far more than MANY more popular stars in TM

he may not be as quick as kaabi or borhani. but neither is karimi or navidkia or jabbari or shojaei ( the players in his class ).
he isnt "flashy" like karimi or shojaei to sparkle with a dribble here and another there ... which seems to REALLY attract fans' attention. so I guess that can be a negative given IRANIAN fan culture !!!!

but he brings an extra dimension to the TM that the likes of shojaei ( who is a one-trick pony at the moment : dribble till u get fouled ) cant even come close to. and with both navidkia and jabbari injured, he shd be the obvious choice for replacing karimi.

but becoz he's stupid and has chosen to remain in uae and becoz shojaei plays in europe and since our fans rarely OBSERVE a player's performance and would rather base their opinions on "names", shojaei is given the nod ahead of iman!
    go figure !

I've to admit that I seriously have had no other explanation for this phenomenon. Don't feel offended if I had these thoughts.

I've studied many soccer magazins (kicker etc.), watched soccer games and judged them several times. But I couldn't manage to accept many of your facts.

e.g. I`m looking at your formation right now in your signature, do you actually know that a third rated brazilian can break through your 4-4-2 formation, there are so many vacancies.

And I can't understand why you love mobali after all? He is the best example for a non-western soccer type. No speed, no overview, sometimes fighting with himself

1- these are opinions and I'm sure everyone has their own internal reasoning for their views expressed.

sometimes one sect of ppl are wrong while the opposite are right. sometimes vice versa.
for example, I admit, putting too much in store of karimi for this game was wrong as he disappointed me very much and wasnt even half of what I expected from him.

sometimes there IS NO wrong, but one view may be more "relevant" according to a "specific situation" than the other, while the other may be more logical in a more "general setting" ( as seen in recent debates ).

However, sometimes one has to go by FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE rather than what "shd be" or what is seen "elsewhere" ... a particular reference to the use and returns of this 4-2-3-1 formation, as an example.
first hand being what we see at TM game after game. and what "shd be" is what ppl refer to general aspects of the formation as seen in magazines, books, european teams, ... .

then there are another sect of arguments created not based on logic or rationale, but on basic lajbaazi and persistence on some claims made that I assume it wouldnt look nice to accept the contrary! no matter how often it is proved wrong!

    ----------------

2- I make notes as I watch the game and put them up as the game finishes.
that's why they are up early.

now, I dont know if there is a statute of limitation for posting on the games, but I dont kow why you think it is "weird" !! ( or do you think I had already prepared them PRIOR to the game ? )
so if I say the same things after a day would make it "UN-weird" ?
is it the time of post that makes it strange?

well it's definitely your right doc to express your opinion to the world wide web, but actually I'm really asking myself if everyone is sleeping or just thinking before writing after Iran games. It's a bit weird that Iran games are not finished and your "karshenaz" news is online within seconds.

Do you really believe your positive or negative criticism or do you appreciate it to post your opinion as fast as possible without any reconsideration? If I'm wrong pls be so kind and let me know because I've been following your internal arguments with Martin-Reza and many others for so long and I can't imagine that they are wrong in nearly every issue concerning iranian football, formation, coaching, players whatever..... thx

^ no. what is really sad is that you ppl either dont understand plain english or dont have it in you to accept perhaps others may have a more practical view on things that dont have to conform with ur idols' .

otherwise you ppl would immaturely exaggerate suggestions and come up with inane remarks like "...will suddenly play amazing football & win games" !

THAT, my friend, is what is sad.

    =============

    as for players.
the difference is I am man enough and more importantly impartial enough to accept karimi's poor display and bring it up and actually propose a change.
which is far more than what can be said about some others who persist on a failed experiment even if it happens in each game!

or am impartial enough to give ghotbi time to make his case and not jump on him immediately. or will not defy all logic and defend a coach while in reality he is faltering, just becoz he was my idol once.
which is a far cry from others who do before a guy even practices with the team, or those who close their eyes and follow their idols like ... whatever, no matter what.

or in case of players, I at least let the player show what he's capable of before I say aye or nay and will not pre-judge them without them having made their case. shojaei , much like sadeghi or zareh or ... got a pretty long rope of playing in quite a few games, before I started to criticize them.

    or .... .

this is even MORE SAD than the above section !

and it must really hurt to see many of the issues brought up before games become reality. doesnt it?

wats really sad, is that he thinks wat he is saying is 100% right, he knows TM's problems, he knows TM's solutions (interesting how so many coaches came and left and still couldnt solve TM's problems) and will work for sure and that if we start playing with 2 strikers and if we bench shojaei and play mobali, we will suddenly play amazing and start winning again
he thinks he is the only one observing things in the game and watching matches, and anyone who disagrees with him is either not observant, or not intelligent, or just plain retards - a summary of all his posts so far in F+ and football forum.

and he thinks everyone else is not observant, is a retard or is not intelligent enough and is a robot or not willing to change. he once doesnt even bother to doubt himself, question himself or even ask himself, maybe he needs to change???is that even a possiblity? is it even a BLOODY possiblity that we would be worse off if we listened to his suggestions? how nicely he says he made a mistake for vouching for karimi when he was busy crucifying others who didnt want karimi in TM but those who are vouching for shojaei are retards, or not as intelligent or as observant as him

majid jan asked me why the stress and anger.
all I can say in as short as possible, is I was promised one thing but what was given was a totally different thing. and therefore I feel utterly cheated!

I am not talking about the draw or us coming away lucky or ... . those are separate issues.
what this is about is ghotbi promised a game-plan made to attack and win the game.
and what I saw was a totally different thing!
if he did come up with an attacking team that went for a win and in the end got a draw, I wouldnt feel cheated. I'd say "we did our best, but our best wasnt enough!"
    but we did NOT !!!

that team with his selections and squad and subbing and game plan and timing of subs and .... definitely did NOT have a win in mind. that was made for a draw!

and being cheated gets me angry.
having something so close and almost in your grasp, but when you fail to CLOSE YOUR FIST around it and it slips away is enough cause for anger.

this game SHD HAVE BEEN in our grasp. and WE, through OUR OWN decisions dropped the ball !

    =================

in other words, I was promised a choc-chip double stacked ice cream sundae with hot mint sauce topping, but was given a single scoop of crappy plain vanilla !!

    that is plain unforgivable

Ghotbi and TM players are doing us all a favor by ensuring our exclusion from the WC. (They are doing it unknowingly though).

If we fail to make it to the WC (and I hope we do) one/or more of these scenarios might happen:

    - All the money and budget wasted on an disorganized sport can be shifted to something that we really can shine. Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Futsal, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Marshal arts, Chess, Women sports, etc...

    - Either as part of change in government (which I hope happens) or as part of election campaign by current government IFF gets purged and rebuilt hopefully by better staff (this could make things worse though. I hope we get lucky and Daei and Mayeli Kohan stay the **** away from the opening posts).

    - Older players retire. Kia, Karimi, Hash, etc..

    - Better focus on youth level

The game yesterday put a smile on my face when I saw Maadanchi and Khalatbari coming in and blowing a fresh air into the team. The generation which never got the chance to shine under the heavy shadow of older players and gutless coaches. These losses will make their step into the main stage faster which can only be good for our football.

There is big different between "Team Melli" and "this team melli". There is always 2014 and new generations to be cheered up.

....and you have a huge point about uncoordinated colors of the Spain jersey.

But if I want to enjoy the real football , then I switch channel to watch the likes of Arsenal , Barcelona and Argentina ( just because of Messi)

Oh, by the way, god bless your grand, grand mother's soul, you didn't get upset when she passed away, you know why? bcz you expected. So, did this team melli, that's why you and I didn't freak out.

Note: 3 of the best UAE players are out.

Anyway...this Team Melli is nothingt but a heartache and it is pretty unfair for the other good teams in this group if through some miracle , hook or crook , Iran makes it to the World Cup...
    Yeah It would be unfair.
btw Australia is though to South Africa.
At least I have a team to cheer for
