There is some thing that money can't buy...one of them is World Cup Spot.

I am officially out for supporting this team. There is no talent, no management, no system and no hope. Let's those ones who decide from "STANDS" suffer.

^ Yeah, if you have a striker virtually "hanging in the air", it's barely ever the striker's fault. What is he supposed to do, run back more often to be closer to the OMs who fail to advance forward more often?

at time when TM only have 20 minutes to score a goal and have hope for world cup, Mr.Qotbi decides to sub In a striker for another striker who is even more useless.
funny thing we were playing with no strikers in the last couple of minutes after khalili was injured. that was just amazing.
there was a huge difference between Tm's first half performance and coach's half!

for once we should accept defeat, we never really looked like a good team in this tournament and is capable of going to WC.

I guess this brief statement sums the whole situation very nicely.....

I don't really give a hoot about the technical details and hardly been interested in micro management of Team melli. Just like a normal fan , I want to see my team win…….and this bunch is depriving me.

The whole system needs upheaval..... There are many gaps in Iran’s football at all levels , not just the National Team.....Although , I would have thought that since this match is a crucial one , we will see more energy , determination , winning spirit and grit in the player’s performance.....BUT ..... it was not to be...false hopes...same old lame players , same old excuses , same old biases , same old.........

    Amatauer coach

If there ever was a time in the last few months that I had this winning feeling (including during Daei's reign) it was this one.

First half , Korea DPR had very little to say and were clinging by a thread , YET despite the pressure that TM was exerting on the Koreans , the coach elected to stick to his elderly players Hashemian , Mahdavikia , Karimi and a very ineffective & nervous Shojaei for the 2nd half!!!

In the 2nd half (coach's half) the Korean coach turned his team tactic around and went for the offensive. TM never bounced back after that and once again we have to thank the almighty and Seyed Mehdi for his brilliant saves in the goal. He left it far too late for substitution and when he eventually decided to change , he did a blooper....

I hardly comment on coaches actual work as I believe that they know much better than us sitting under no pressure. BUT.... ......there are some simple things in football that does not require a degree in neurology or nuclear science...

The 2nd half showed how incompetent the coaching staff was and how ignorant of its own player's ability...leaving the dynamic , skilful and fast player like Khalatbary on the bench while Hashemian and Karimi strolling round the park huffing and puffing was simply a huge mistake.....

No wonder....Ghotbi has hardly seen ONE league match since he left Iran early in the season to know who is good and who is not, so what the hell he knows about Khalatbari???

I don't know if Khalatbari would have been a winner , but by far he would have been 10 times more effective that Hash , Karimi and Kia put toghother.

I honestly have more trust for Peyman or Martin Reza to take the control of Team Melli than Afshin Ghotbi...The man is an amateur and will remain so for some time.....It is only in a screwed up system such as Iran that people like him can dream of coaching the national team.....and the result is quite obvious.

i think karimi and kia deserved to be subbed out before hashemian. hashemian was fighting and trying very hard.

karimi was exhausted in second half which is nothing new and i dont think we heard mahdavikia's name more than 2 or 3 times the entire second half. even shojaei for that matter...
we had heydari, zandi, khalatbari, madanchi on the bench...khalili was the worst choice of them all cos he hasnt played a whole season and isnt really on form, and hashemian was doing much more than shojaei, karimi and kia!

khalatbari is our most on-fire player at the moment.
he should have been our first priority as a sub, not the last one!

I don't think he was hurt. The problem was behind Hash and not Hash himself, so this sub was more an alibi than targeting a real improvement it seems.

I am not sure why he pulled VH out.. I thought he was playing his heart out, pressuring the ball, winning the ball, throw ins..
    maybe he was hurt ..

I must say Daei's decisions, like not bringing Karimi and Kia in some games and not inviting Zandi have gotten support today.

The first two were disappointing, the latter didn't get playing time.

Also the rest was pretty similar to what he lined up.

I guess we need to understand that our problem is not the coach.

your emotions are getting the best of you DD.. You are calling everyone that doesn't agree with you idiots and fools.. that's not like you.

anyways, I most certainly believe that if it weren't for the 2 DM that we used today, we would have come out losers, by at least 2 or 3 goals.. if not more..

Watch minute 1 , we had 4 defenders and 2 DM and they still got a 1 on 1..
Our defenders are simply horrible.. adding forwards , reducing DM to 1 isn't going to solve that problem or even make it better. In fact it will make it worse..

As far as Shojaie goes, I wonder how many fans would have asked for Shojaie to be on the bench , BEFORE the game.. But now that our La Liga man has played the game and had bad showing, people are getting on his case and the coach's case as to why he wasn't subbed out ..

Khalatbari came in late because that would have been our third and final sub.. No coach in the right mind would make that last sub with 15 minutes to go, because if there is an injury (i.e Khalili's) we are screwed and have to play with 10 men..

Getting 1 point instead of 3 , is the least of our problems.. This team , as it stands, has no business going to the WC, and you are worried about 2 DM and Shojaie???

When our La Liga player can't make a simple ball control, not a simple pass.. When our "best" CB , hands the ball over to the Koreans when there is no pressure on him,
When our Bundesliga player, Kia, can't service a half decent ball into the box on a set play

come on man.. we have much bigger issues than the number of forwards or DMs..
