Persianfootball.com – TEHRAN, The young striker scored on his debut shortly after being subbed in during the final 10 minutes.

Iran defeated Syria 5-0 in Tehran’s Azadi stadium. The match was the first for Iran with former Belgium National Team coach Marc Wilmots in charge. It was also the first game for Team Melli since the departure of the longstanding Portuguese trainer, Carlos Queiroz.

With the match already won, courtesy of Alireza Jahanbakhsh and a Mehdi Tremi hattrick, Wilmots subbed out forward Karim Ansarifard on the 80th minute, giving Allahyar Sayyadmanesh his debut with the Iranian National Team. His first cap was topped off with a goal in the 89th minute of the match with a well-taken header.

17-year-old Sayyadmanesh made headlines during the 2017 U-17 World Cup held in India, scoring 4 goals as Iran made it to the Quarter-final stage.

Allahyar currently plies his trade with Esteghlal Tehran in the Iran Pro League. He will reportedly move to the Turkish Superlig giants Fenerbahçe S.K. next season upon his 18th birthday.
