Naft Wins, Esteghlal Loses in IPL

Loading...Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iran Professional League (IPL) leader Naft Tehran defeated Naft Masjed Soleyman on Friday.
Alireza Ezzati scored the only goal of the match in the 84th minute.
With six weeks remaining, Naft Tehran stayed one point clear of Tractor Sazi football team at the top of the table.
Tractor Sazi defeated Esteghlal Khuzestan 3-0 in Tabriz. Farshad Ahmadzadeh opened the scoring in the 40th minute.
Brazilian striker Edinho made it 2-0 in the 57th minute and Andranik Teymourian scored Tractor Sazi’s third goal in the 81st minute.
Elsewhere, titleholderS Foolad came from behind to beat Esteghlal 2-1 in Ahvaz.
Reza Enayati was on target for Esteghlal in the 13th minute. Esmaeil Sharifat equalized the match in the 71st minute and Cameroonian midfielder Mathias Chago scored for Foolad in the 83rd minute.
Moreover, Saipa edged Malavan 1-0 and Persepolis was held to a 2-2 draw by relegation-threatened Rah Ahan in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
