Tasnim – TEHRAN, Tony Oliveira was appointed as Iran’s Tractor Sazi’s head coach on Saturday night.

The 68-year-old Portuguese took charge of the Tabriz-based team on a one-and-a-half-year deal.

Oliveira, who has returned to the Iranian club for the third stint, replaced Rasoul Khatibi.

Khatibi sacked in the wake of last Friday’s humiliating home 3-1 defeat to Padideh in the Iranian Professional League (IPL).

Tractor Sazi will feature Iran in the AFC Champions League in the upcoming season.
