Widzew Łódź faced Lech Poznań in a match that was very evenly matched for a long time. Both teams had their chances, and the outcome of the match hung in the balance until the final minutes.

Lech Poznań, which had secured qualification to the Europa League stage just three days earlier, started the match against Widzew Łódź with its strongest possible lineup.
