Amir Abedzadeh returns to SD Ponferradina

sdponferradina.com – PONFERRADA, Amir Abedzadeh (Tehran, Iran, 1993) returns to SD Ponferradina. The Iranian international goalkeeper, who previously played for the club for two seasons between 2021 and 2023, arrives from CD Castellón.

Amir began his professional career in the United States and continued it in his home country, until 2016 when he embarked on an extended spell in Portugal. After playing for FC Barreirense, he moved to CS Marítimo de Funchal, where he spent five seasons in the top flight.

In 2021, he began his first stint with Ponferradina, making 65 appearances in the Segunda División. He then returned to CS Marítimo de Funchal, before moving back to Spanish football in 2024 to join CD Castellón, where he played until last season.

Now he begins a new chapter at SD Ponferradina, where he will compete in the Primera Federación.
