Beating Tazhudinov and Rahman taking his revenge was HUGE!
beating 2 Olympic champs was special!
however Azarpira moft bakht! Snyder won with his experience! And Azarpira lost another last few sec fight!
dorostkar said the plan was to manage the fight in first 3 min then attack in second! But Azarpira was happy with 2 points of khaak and was hoping to win 2-1!
    too defensive and conservative!!

Amouzad birahm to the fullest today, simply wow. Ararpira honestly did a good job against snyder and that stupid finger holding point the ref gave snyder was the difference, otherwise the outcome would probably be another one. Great achievement overall for our FS Team to finish on Top of Team Ranking.
Now lets hope our GR will do the same and even better.

Rahman was a beast. I agree Azarpira was too defensive but a good showing from our boys today!

Rahman with a dominant revenge over the Japanese guy. He was absolutely a man possessed. Ended up techinn him in 2 minutes.
Azarpira lost in the last second to Snyder. One thing about him is that he is a very defensive wrestler. And Snyder just wore him down at the end with his pace. Overall a great showing by the team.

yeah it will be interesting to see these young kids! GR is quite tough category and fights are very tight!
btw, 7 out of 10 GR wrestlers are from Khuzestan!

At the lower weights they took a lot of young guys.

Balootaki took the U20 worlds gold this year.
Ahmadi vafa won u20 and u23 worlds gold last year.
Keshtar got silver the Asian championship this year.
Sohrabi got gold in Asian championship.
Abedvali won u20 worlds last year and the year before. Got silver in Asia senior championship.

They obviously are very decorated and the potential is there. But really interested to see how they do this year. I do think Greco is a style where the older guys generally have the advantage as opposed to freestyle. So this could be a baptism by fire sort of speak.

Yes we are! Not counting Russian medals and their athletes all over the other countries helps for sure but still good achievement!

Amouzad got extremely lucky vs indian guy in quarter!

he was totally out of gas after 2 min! He basically was taking the guy out of mat for 4 points out of 6 while indian had 2x 2 points from khaak!
30 sec more and he was losing it for sure!
he need to manage his energy level tbh!
tough one Kotaro in final tomorrow

So much props to Azarpira. Coming back from an ACL and taking out Tazahadinov was an amazing accomplishment. I mean if he wins Gold, how does the federation even think about pushing Yazdani forward to 97kg? I think the best thing would be to send Yazdani back to 86 and Kamran back to 92. Kamran’s body just doesn’t respond to 86.
