    Several more issues:

    1. Hopefully no bad/suspect referee decisions against us. This has happened to much to Iran in the past.
    2. Are there Israelis competing against us in any discipline? Could we face any of them?
    3. Lack of mental strength in key moments. We missed to many medals because of that.
    4. Possible doping cases of our opponents. Are they stricter this time around? It seems to be, since they immediately kicked our Karate athlete out.

This is what they will wear:

These were the options provided for official uniforms which were rejected. I am assuming the winner was related to someone high up. We had the exact same issue last Olympics.

You are right. 2008 was a nightmare lol.

But hold on about 2016. We might get some medals more because of some doping cases again haha.

Hope Wrestling and Karate do not let us down. Can´t really count on Weightlifting and Taekwondo this time.

Man it seems we could even end up worse than 2016. No surprise really, but perhaps there will be some surprises still.

In recent Olympics I have counted on weightlifting for a couple of gold medals or more and I know that Georgian guy is going to win gold easily so I guess no realistic chance for weightlifting glory for Iran this Olympics. So I guess our realistic chance for medals especially gold medals is really just wrestling. I assume we will also win a few medals in Taekwondo and Karate if things go well for us.
You are very welcome. Yes, since 2000 weightlifting was our best hope for gold medal next to wrestling and we always had a gold medal chance in the games. This year, Ali Hashemi in 109 will be extremely lucky if he can somehow snatch a bronze. And as you said Talakhadze will 99.9% win the heavyweight gold unless he gets covid/injury, so Ali Davoudi should get Silver/Bronze if he doesn't screw up.

We had 3 concrete gold meal chances to begin with. Moradi (weightlifting) and Asgari (Karate) lost the games in a painful way. Hassan Yazdani is still left. Hopefully one or two others can come and surprize us!

Our lifters have been clean for the last couple of years but we had the whole youth team doping a few years back plus a few others which totalled 10 cases over the counting period resulting in two Olympic spots. Some weightlifting power houses like Russia and Kazakhstan had more than us so they only have 1 quota.
In addition we lost a almost certain gold in 96kg because of Rostami's retardness and Moradi's prolonged injury.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — Romania has been banned from competing in weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympics over past doping cases, the International Weightlifting Federation ruled in a decision published on Thursday.

No, the Olympic Committee simply banned nations who had doping cases to two spots (quotas).
Which is very unfair, given our athletes had fewer doping cases than places like Russia. These nations also only have two spots.
