According to a survey done in another of Polands' most respected news papers, Wisla Krakow was the most popular team in 1985 having a fan base of 32.18% of Poland's population, whereas Lech Poznan only had 9.49% of the fanbase.

A similar survey was again conducted in 1998, and the question was "which team has been your favorite team during this decade?". Again 33.23% voted Wisla, and only 5.67% voted for Lech.
